# Diffchecker

> Diffchecker compares text, PDF and Word documents, images, Excel spreadsheets, and folders. It runs online at www.diffchecker.com and is also available as a public HTTP API, a command-line tool, and a desktop app for Windows, Mac, and Linux.

Canonical page URLs end in a trailing slash. On the Cloudflare-served website, confirmed missing page paths return HTTP 404 directly, with Markdown for clients that do not prefer HTML. Saved text diffs live at eight-character slugs such as /abcd1234/ and are user content, not documentation.
