Donald John Trump (born June 14, 1946, in Queens, New York, U.S.) is an American politician, real estate developer, and media personality. A member of the Republican Party, he has served as the 47th president of the United States since January 20, 2025, in his second non-consecutive term, and previously as the 45th president from January 20, 2017, to January 20, 2021.[1][2] Trump assumed leadership of his family's real estate business in 1971, expanding it into luxury properties, hotels, casinos, golf courses, and branding ventures. He rose to prominence as a media figure through authorship, notably The Art of the Deal, and television, including hosting The Apprentice. After earlier considerations for the presidency, Trump secured the Republican nomination in 2016, won the presidency as a political outsider, lost the 2020 election, and reclaimed the presidency in 2024.
