No, not at all. You can use Diffchecker Desktop forever after purchasing it, and you get a year of free updates with your purchase. The subscription is only for those who would like to keep receiving updates after a year. This model is a lot simpler than that of other desktop software for which you have to pay separately for version 2 of a software after they’re done with version 1 and they stop supporting it. If you subscribe to Diffchecker Desktop, you will always have the latest version for just $24.50/yr after the first year.
You can switch the computer your license is associated with up to 5 times a year. This means that you can transfer licenses to a new computer easily but cannot use it one multiple computers simultaneously: you would need multiple licenses for that.
No, and we don’t currently have any plans for them. Everyone pays the same amount per license.
