Task Summary:
Task Summary:
1. Inform production operations of the planned work area of facility where control valves are to have stem packing inspected.
1. Inform production operations of the planned work area of facility where control valves are to have stem packing inspected.
2. For each control valve stem packing being inspected, spray snoop to stem packing sealing area to determine if any leaking is occurring. Some very minor leaking (fugitive emissions magnitude) may be occurring, which is not unusual.

3. If any leaking is occurring, follow control valve manufacturer’s instructions and local facility procedures for adjusting the stem packing. Under no circumstances can the valve gland be opened without a specific work permit to break containment.

4. Re-check with snoop to verify that the adjustment was effective in reducing/eliminating the fugitive emission magnitude leak.

5. Note any grease fittings/body cavity bleeds that are not SS, exhibit significant corrosion or are in otherwise poor condition.

6. When control valve stem packing inspection of all valves within the planned work area has been completed, notify production operations that the task has been completed.

7. Repeat steps 1-6 until all facility control valves’ stem packing have been inspected.

8. Enter Notification for any facility control valves that are not in good physical condition, continue to leak after adjustment or for the replacement of any CS grease fittings/body cavity bleeds with SS.

9. Close-out job. Charge time and confirm work completion in SAP. Document history in the Notification attached to this Order via M3 Activity Report.
