May 29th, Welch came to see me.
He claimed to have come across an ancient notebook.
June 20th,
we deciphered the first page.
My Goddess!
This is a notebook from the Fourth Epoch!
The writer hailed from...
The Antigonus Family.
June 21st, 22nd, 25th.
Antigonus.
The Black Emperor.
The Tudor Empire.
The summit of the Hornacis Mountain Range.
June 26th.

Brother?
You stayed up all night reading again?
What are you doing?
I just woke up. I’m cleaning up a bit.
You’re acting secretive.
What was that?
This... seems to be...
broken again.
What’s with that look of disparagement and resignation?

The wound’s almost healed up.

A gunshot right through the temple?
Was it suicide?
Or was it disguised as suicide?
Although Klein’s remaining memories are scattered
and many important details are missing,
I can be certain
that whatever is happening has to do with that ancient notebook.
Then... what about my transmigration?
Everything had been normal lately.
I had just been down on my luck with work. That’s all.
Wait, that’s right!
I did a luck enhancement ritual just before dinner!
Klein.
Go back to bed if you’re still feeling out of it.
I’m all right.
All right, then. I’m off to school.
Remember to buy eight pounds of fresh bread.
It spoils quickly in this heat.
Oh, and buy some mutton and peas, too.
You’ve been working hard on your job search.
I’ll make you mutton stewed with peas.
I’ll be coming home a bit late today.
Wait for me, okay?
I’m sorry, Melissa.
I might not be here when you get back.
A revolver is nowhere near quiet,
and yet Melissa didn’t notice a thing from the next room.
The longer I stay here, the more dangerous it becomes.
I’d best try that luck enhancement ritual again.
Maybe I’ll be able to transmigrate back.
I hope I’ll get to eat dinner at home today.
Mrs. Smyrin, eight pounds of rye bread.
Klein, you’ve graduated now, haven’t you?
All thanks to your well wishes, Mrs. Smyrin.
What an fine young lad you are.
I’m sure you’ll be able to make good money and move into a new place in no time.
You and your siblings shouldn’t have to live in an apartment like that.
You should at least have your own... bathroom.
Mrs. Smyrin,
you sure sound like a young, energetic lady today.
Goodbye, Mrs. Smyrin.
Goodbye, young Klein.
The sun looks about the same.
If not for the eerie crimson moon,
this would be just like a parallel Earth.
Threes.
Tens!
Jacks.
Pass.
Fighting the Landlord?
Oh, that’s right. That game exists in this world, too.
I think it was...
about 100 years ago when the Intis Emperor,
Roselle Gustav, invented it.
He also invented tarot divination and the steam engine,
as well as improving the sailing boat and promoting the Spring Festival tradition.
If we followed novel logic,
then could Emperor Roselle Gustav...
have been a transmigrator?
Maybe even a fellow countryman?
A circus performance?
Sir, tonight at seven o’clock!
We await your presence.
Praise the Goddess.
Lost sheep,
come forth.
Accept this guidance for your path ahead.
Where did he go?
Destiny is profound, its path unpredictable.
Tarot can help you...
peek into its mysteries.
Tarot?
Those are just like the tarot cards on Earth.
Emperor Roselle really was a transmigrator, then?
You’re the first person to seek divination today.
It’s on the house.
Have a seat.
It’s free?
Indeed.
Now, let’s begin.
Wait.
Let me ask one more thing.
What about interpreting the cards, then? Also free?
Th-That’s... also free.
They say there’s nothing more expensive than something free.
What would you like to read?
Past,
present,
and future.
Please shuffle the cards
and focus your mind on that which you seek.
I’ve already done so.
Please start.
This represents your past.
This, your present.
And this, your future.
All right, Mr. Free.
Which card do you want to see first?
The present.
The Fool.
The Fool?
The "0" card of the tarot?
A fresh beginning with all kinds of possibilities?
Hey!
Why are you impersonating me again?!
You’re just an animal trainer, and don’t you forget it!
Well, then.
Is an animal trainer who doesn’t want to be a fortune-teller a bad clown?
Go check on your baboons. Don’t let me catch you again!
Sir, my divination and interpretation has been quite accurate...
Be this a luck enhancement ritual or a transmigration ritual...
Please, just send me home.
Place the four portions of staple food in the four corners of the room.
Stand in the center of the room.
Take four steps counter-clockwise in the shape of a square.
The Immortal Lord of Heaven and Earth for Blessings.
The Sky Lord of Heaven and Earth for Blessings.
The Exalted Thearch of Heaven and Earth for Blessings.
The Celestial Worthy of Heaven and Earth for Blessings!
Nothing happened?
That can’t be right.
Just now, it-
You wouldn’t die if you didn’t court death.
What... is this place?
Mirror, mirror...
In the name of the Hall family,
I command you... to awaken!
Sir...
If I may ask... Where is this?
Did I...
summon these two?
If I may ask...
Might you be the master of this Divine Realm?
"Divine Realm"?
A place without so much as a shrine, and you call it a Divine Realm?
Is this what people call "the law follows the word"? Materialization?
Could it be that this gray fog...
is something like a third-party tool for my use?
It is!
Sir.
If I may ask...
What is this place?
And who are you?
Me?
Am I Zhou Mingrui?
Or am I Klein?
You may address me as...
The Fool.
The Fool?
Mr. Fool,
what is it that you are doing?
A test run.
A test run?
Mr. Fool, is the test over?
Might you permit our return?
Certainly.
If you make a formal request,
you can return this very moment.
From her voice, she seems to be an innocent young girl.
As for the other,
he sounds calm and cautious-
difficult to get a grasp on.
This is such a wonderful experience.
I’ve always hoped for something mysterious and supernatural to occur.
Mr. Fool, what can I do to become a Beyonder?
A Beyonder?
I’ve never even heard of such a thing.
This gentleman here should be able to answer your question.
The lady across from me has the manner of speech of a Loen noble,
while I’m far away, by the Sonia Sea.
Between us lies a great distance.
How did The Fool manifest this?
You are from Loen, correct?
To become a Beyonder, join the organization of the Evernight Goddess,
the Lord of Storms, or some other.
Though the majority of us will not meet a Beyonder once in our entire lives,
it is indisputable that they exist.
Even now, they fight against the dangers that grow in the dark.
But... I don’t want to lose my freedom.
Then you can only seek the royal families
or the noble families over a millennium old.
Are there no other options?
I do have...
two sets of Sequence 9 potion formulas.
Really? Which two sets?
"Sequence 9"?
One is named "Sailor," and the other is "Spectator."
You’ll have acute powers of observation,
It seems they’re referring to various kinds of superhuman powers.
and will be able to judge "actors" in the secular world.
"Sequence 9" sounds like a power level.
I think I have fallen in love with this feeling of being a "Spectator"...
This gray fog and my transmigration...
Are they also some Beyonder power?
Mr. Fool, I have successfully reached a trade agreement with this gentleman.
Please allow me to make a presumptuous request.
Could you bear witness to our trade?
It’s no trouble at all.
Then would you mind arranging a few more gatherings like this?
Gatherings?
Mr. Fool.
Your powers far exceed our imaginations.
But the lady of lofty stature and myself
may be able to help you achieve something trivial
that had previously inconvenienced you.
With more frequent gatherings comes the risk of exposing myself.
But the more contact I have with this mysterious realm,
the better my chances are of finding a way home.
I must overcome this fear of the unknown.
Then let us meet every Monday at three in the afternoon.
Try your best to be alone.
You may continue.
Shall we give ourselves code names, then?
After all, we can’t use our real names for conversation.
Good idea.
Since Mr. Fool’s name is derived from the tarot...
I know! I shall be Justice!
The Hanged Man.
Then that makes us the founding members of the Tarot Club!
I’m losing strength...
I heard that initially,
Emperor Roselle made a different deck of tarot cards.
Yes.
It is said that Emperor Roselle had seen the Blasphemy Slate
which contains the profound mysteries of the 22 Paths of the Divine.
Enough.
Today’s gathering ends here.
By your will.
By your will.
Who is it?
The police.
Coming.
An inspector?
Apologies. I was just having a nap.
We meet again.
You’re the guy... who was following me in the town square.
"Following" you?
An interesting choice of words.
Why can’t I have been "protecting" you?
Leonard Mitchell, Awwa County Police.
You’re entering without-
Relax, Mr. Moretti.
We just want to ask you a few questions.
Inspectors...
Did Naya and Welch really...
take their own lives?
Judging from the scene, yes.
You call that suicide?
They looked possessed!
What "strange things"?
You...
And this here...
"Everyone will die, including me."
What did you mean by that?
I have no idea.
I really can’t remember.
Especially recent events.
Evidence indicates that on the 27th,
you visited Mr. McGovern’s residence.
So I did go there?
You might not believe what I’m saying,
but I can only guess at recent events through reading my diary.
Mr. McGovern has lost a revolver.
I’d wager I should be able to find it here.
Isn’t that right, Mr. Moretti?
It’s in the stove over there.
Do you have anything you wish to add?
Yes.
Yesterday, I awoke in the middle of the night and found myself collapsed over the desk,
as if I had gone through a failed suicide attempt.
After that,
I started to lose some memories.
Your mental fortitude is impressive.
You can tell from my voice I’m not lying, right?
That does fit what I’ve surmised so far.
However,
what I think is irrelevant.
You will have to pass a psychic test administered by an expert.
She...
should be able to help you recall your lost memories.
A psychic expert?
What if my memories of Earth are exposed?
You’re a lucky one.
Frankly, we’re relieved to see you’re still alive.
Usually, when we investigate a case like this one,
all involved parties...
are found dead.
What’s wrong, Mr. Moretti?
If they find out that I’m a transmigrator...
Stop right there!
Damn it!
You rascal! You steal from me every day!
Stop right there!
Stop him!
Lemme go!
I’ve finally caught you.
Just have him return what he stole.
Let go of me, or I’ll curse you!
This is my chance!
Let go!
Time and space are frozen?
It’s a Beyonder!
To the pier outside the city.
You got it.
No one is coming after me and there are no abnormalities.
Please pull over.
Where are you going?
To Welch’s residence.
It was a dream?
When did I fall asleep?
Allow me to reintroduce myself.
Nighthawk,
Dunn Smith.
Was he the one manipulating my dream?
Is he a Beyonder?
Mr. Moretti.
In the dark of the night,
we are far more powerful than you can imagine.
"We"?
No need to be nervous.
I’ll make you all slick and pliable,
so that you can open right up.
Don’t...
Don’t worry.
This is her idea of calming you down.
She prefers corpses over men.
Mom! Dad!
Klein.
Memories on the surface can be wiped away,
but in the vast ocean of the mind, there are always shadows left drifting in the deep.
Did she see that?
No, she doesn’t know yet.
Judging by her words, this is my mind,
and yet she can’t see through to my secrets.
Could it be because of that gray fog?
Klein.
Tell me.
What did you do with the notebook of the Antigonus Family?
The notebook is gone?
I don’t know.
On June 27th,
what happened in Welch’s home?
Welch...
Naya...
I don’t know.
When they died,
what were you doing?
I...
I’ve... passed the test?
I can confirm three things.
He attempted suicide via gunshot,
but it’s clear that he still lives.
As for his lost memories,
they are just like Welch and Naya’s souls:
no trace remains.
I fear whatever power was able to affect him so.
I’ve never encountered something so troublesome.
You need to be careful.
The Antigonus Family’s notebook is missing.
The threat to your life still remains.
Then I-
We’re not your babysitters.
We can’t always protect you.
Or...
Perhaps you’d like to join us and become...
a Beyonder?

▶ Lord of Mysteries - S01E02 - Beyonder (CR WEB-DL 1440p AAC H264) [E62EE379] [Cattleya]

This is the world of Beyonders.
By drinking potions, humans are able to attain various powers of Beyonders,
and ascend to divinity.
The 22 Pathways begin with the weakest, Sequence 9.
The lower the sequence,
the stronger a Beyonder’s abilities.
Strong Beyonders of the higher-level Sequences can wield powers strong enough to rival gods.
This path of evolution is called:
the Path of the Divine.
The Antigonus family’s notebook is missing.
The threat to your life still remains.
Or perhaps you’d like to join us...
and become a Beyonder?
If you wish to join us, go to the Hound pub and talk to Wright.
Joining the Nighthawks might expose my secret, but it’d be better cover.
Plus, it’s currently the best path to gaining more knowledge on mysticism.
This is the place.
Apologies.
Gnaw him to death! Go on!
Dogs hunting rats?
What’re you lookin’ at?! Y’got a death wish? Punk.
We don’t serve milk here, lad.
I’d like to hire a small mercenary squad, Mr. Wright.
What year do you think it is? No such thing these days.
Who told you to ask for that here?
Dunn Smith.
Come with me.
"Steam locomotive Flight begins its express service to Constant City today..."
Huh?
And you are?
Greetings. I’m Klein Moretti.
Oh! You’re the new recruit the captain mentioned.
Oh, um, yes.
Please follow me.
My name is Rozanne. I’m a clerk here. We’ll be colleagues from now on.
It’s a pleasure.
We’re not usually so busy.
For some reason, in the last two days, there’s been a spike in Beyonder cases.
That’s Royale. Pretty, isn’t she?
I haven’t had much chance to chat with her.
That’s Frye.
He may look cold, but he’s a kind person. He taught me how to sketch.
Kenley’s been a Nighthawk for almost six months, but he still gets nervous going on missions.
Go on. The captain’s room is just up ahead.
You’re not coming with me?
Well, uh, I’ve always been a little afraid of the captain.
I don’t know why I’m so scared. He’s actually very amiable and caring.
Almost like a father figure.
Isn’t it normal for fathers to be a bit scary?
Very true.
Have you decided?
Yes.
"Awwa County Police Special Operations Department, 7th Unit."
I thought we were the "Blackthorn Security Company."
Just one disguise of many.
The 7th Unit is considered an Evernight Goddess organization.
We secretly handle Beyonder incidents within our jurisdiction.
Starting now, you’re a fellow member.
Welcome.
Then, I should call you "Captain," yes?
Yes.
There is one thing I must tell you in advance.
Becoming a Nighthawk means you face the risk of losing control.
Take this and come with me.
Losing control?
Every name listed here represents a Nighthawk whose life was lost.
The majority due to a Beyonder losing control.
They are the pioneers of Tingen City.
We remember them.
We follow them.
Do you know of the creation myth?
The Creator awoke from Chaos and fashioned the first ray of light.
He became the universe and existence itself.
His eyes became the sun and the crimson moon.
His body became the land and stars.
His hair turned into the phoenixes.
His ears turned into the demonic wolves.
It’s all the same origin.
Humans use Beyonder materials to craft potions and grasp powers from different Pathways.
Pathways?
The Hanged Man from yesterday mentioned something about the 22 Paths of the Divine.
The Evernight Goddess has Sequence 9 starting potions for four pathways.
We have the complete Sequence for the Sleepless pathway.
Corpse Collector has remarkable self-defense capabilities.
Mystery Pryer and Seer have an advantage in mysticism, but they lack the ability to counter.
Although I should mention...
For the Seer pathway, we only have Sequence 9.
You don’t have to decide immediately. Go see the old man in the alchemy room.
He has methods that will help you to make the best decision.
Yes, Captain.
We are guardians,
but also a bunch of miserable wretches constantly battling danger and madness.
It seems no matter which potion I choose, returning home requires knowledge of mysticism.
I can rule out Sleepless and Corpse Collector.
So out of Mystery Pryer and Seer, which one is better?
Aw, man. This is harder than choosing a major at college.
There’s no one here?
Oh my Goddess! What is the matter with this thing?
Greetings. My name is Klein.
Oh, I know your name, lad. Dunn told me you’d be coming.
A history graduate from Khoy University, hmm?
You can call me Old Neil. There’s no rush to choose a Sequence.
Could you help me with organizing the literature over there?
Of course, Mr. Neil.
Dunn says you’re proficient in ancient Feysac and Hermes?
Oh, I wouldn’t say I’m proficient. I’ve just studied them for a long time.
You can begin with the simpler things, or whatever you’re familiar with.
Once you’re sufficiently skilled, perhaps you could help me decipher...
these notes that were lost after Emperor Roselle’s death.
Emperor Roselle?
Most of the notes were lost.
It took a lot of effort to get my hands on these three copies.
It is said these strange symbols invented by him hold mysterious powers.
But in 150 years, not a single person has managed to decipher the true meaning of these symbols.
But I’ve already worked out a few of them, and confirmed that they represent numbers.
And that would mean this...
is actually a diary.
Oh, gosh. This is just Simplified Chinese.
"November 18th. Truly a fascinating matter."
"I discovered a pathetic fellow lost and trapped in the deep darkness amid the storms."
He is lucky to have met me, the protagonist of this era.
1184, January 1st. The grand New Year gala.
Lady Florena was truly splendid.
Emperor, you’re one passionate guy.
I keep repeating myself. The key thing about potions isn’t grasping them, but digesting them!
It’s nothing to do with tapping into powers, but acting!
"And the name of a potion is not solely symbolic at its core,
but a concrete image, key to digestion!"
That’s a truckload of info. I’m grateful for my native tongue.
Maybe I can find a way home.
I made a hasty choice back then.
In hindsight, I should have chosen...
"...Apprentice, Seer, or Bandit."
What does that mean?
Hello? Klein?
Oh, Mr. Neil.
What’s the matter?
I’m sorry. I was trying to decipher and interpret this diary.
Decipher?
You are young indeed!
Young people always think they’re the most special.
Any idea which potion you might want yet?
I can tell you more about them in detail.
There’s value in listening to others. I’ll trust my senior.
Mr. Neil, I’ve made my decision.
Seer.
Seer? Are you certain?
I must warn you: once you take the potion, there is no going back.
I understand, but I will follow the voice in my heart.
I never would’ve expected you to choose Seer.
You have a strong personality, just like myself in my younger days. Yes, not bad.
Organizing the literature inspired me.
I have a yearning to study mysticism.
That’s right. As Emperor Roselle once said, "Knowledge is power."
If you’ve made your decision, then let us begin.
100 milliliters of pure water,
13 drops of liquid night vanilla,
seven gold mint leaves,
three drops of poisonous hemlock,
nine grams of dragon blood grass powder...
Most crucial of all, 10 milliliters of Lavos Squid blood.
And finally, 50 grams of Stellar Aqua crystal.
It’s ready.
Your Seer potion.
Is this drinkable?
I won’t see tiny people dancing, will I?
Am I to drink it just like this?
Yes. Why do you ask?
Or did you want some grape wine first?
Maybe you want to dance with me, too?
Uh, that’s not what I meant, Mr. Neil.
I know what you want to say.
Do not be afraid, and do not hesitate.
The more nervous you are, the more it affects the absorption.
You already have ample reason for being here, correct?
Hornacis... Flegrea...
Klein.
You’ve just taken the potion, and some power is leaking out. This is normal.
Now, focus your mind.
Imagine something you encounter often.
That’s good. Now, change what’s in your mind.
Imagine something that doesn’t exist in this world.
Klein! Control your spirituality!
You must do as I say! Imagine something that doesn’t exist in this world!
Huh? What’s going on?
There’s nothing there.
Focus.
Find that feeling you had just now of drawing something.
What the hell is in that head of yours?
Draw your spirituality inward! Don’t let it spread!
I succeeded?
Congratulations, our Seer.
I was right about you. You’ve got a bright future ahead of you, lad.
How is it? Do I look a bit different to you now?
That’s Spirit Vision. You should now be able to tell my health by the color of my aura.
He doesn’t look so healthy. Perhaps he is old, after all.
There are eyes behind you!
Eyes? Oh, don’t mind those.
It’s a characteristic of ritualistic magic.
Just now, that was...
Overusing Spirit Vision will deplete your spirituality, and you may even hallucinate.
I take it you’ve met Leonard?
I remember when he first took a potion and became a Beyonder,
he fell from the top of the stairs, just like that.
So all things in moderation.
If you can’t control your Spirit Vision very well yet, you can do like I do
and lightly tap twice between your eyes as a switch to turn it on and off.
Between my eyes?
Aside from Spirit Vision, spirituality can also be used for Spirit Dowsing,
Dowsing Rod Seeking, and other ritualistic magic.
But that’s enough for today. Before we finish,
I must issue you with your demon-hunting bullets and other items. Here, check it all over.
And don’t forget these receipts. Take them to Dunn for reimbursement.
Receipts? Reimbursement?
Thank the great Emperor Roselle.
It’s always Roselle.
I hear from Old Neil that you’ve quickly grown accustomed to Cogitation and Spirit Vision.
A trait unique to Seers, perhaps?
In the realm of Beyonders, "unique" often means "dangerous."
In the beginning, you will often hear and see things.
Curiosity kills the cat.
Don’t try to examine those murmurs, nor things that should not exist.
Always remember that.
I understand, Captain.
Until you’re a regular member, you’ll be listed as civilian staff, with a weekly pay of three pounds.
Here’s your first month in advance: 12 pounds.
12 pounds? Klein’s brother, Benson, only makes five or six every four weeks.
I’m springing out of poverty and heading straight to being well-off!
Please come again.
First, go and purchase a cane.
Then, walk every road and alley between Welch’s home and your own.
That’s your mission every day.
See if you can recall the notebook’s whereabouts.
Good day. Get in.
An assignment?
Yes. Young Elliott, the only son of Vickroy, a major tobacco merchant, was kidnapped this morning.
Don’t we only deal with Beyonders?
We are disguised as a security company.
The client is a returning customer.
We, uh, helped him find his lost cat once.
Anyway, don’t be nervous. Searching for people is a Seer’s specialty.
This is his garment. Get to work, Mr. New Seer.
Dowsing Rod Seeking?
Elliott’s location.
Elliott’s location.
Go straight.
Straight ahead.
Turn left.
Turn right.
Here.
Right here.
Two kidnappers.
One hostage.
Excellent. I’ll be done in a minute and we’ll be off the clock.
Did I overuse my spirituality?
Three, four, five, six, seven. Straight.
Bomb.
Three, four, five, six, seven. Straight.
Bomb.
Why be kidnappers? Don’t you want to be civilized people?
All bark, no bite.
Let’s wrap up.
Don’t be afraid. It’s all right now.
Who were those people?
Regulars at the Hound. A pair of gamblers.
Oh? This doesn’t look like an ordinary kidnapping.
This is finally getting interesting.
Trying to get away?
It disappeared.
Don’t let it run off, Seer.
You still want to run?
First time with a gun?
I mean, it just...
"Oh threats of Hell and Hopes of Paradise!"
"One thing at least is certain-This Life flies;"
"One thing is certain and the rest is Lies-"
"The Flower that once has blown forever dies."
A Midnight Poet’s powers can force it to slumber.
All is well now. Someone will come take care of it. Including memories of Beyonders.
Hornacis... Flegrea...
What’s the matter? Did you make another discovery?
N-No.
Klein has been here before?
You’re not a bad shot.
I was aiming for a headshot.
I wouldn’t move around if I were you. You’ll get contaminated.
I don’t know how that gambler, Bacchus, obtained this potion.
These wild Beyonders have a 100% chance of losing control.
I despise cases of Beyonders losing control the most.
Why’s that?
To be honest, you’re quite lucky.
Very few witness a Beyonder losing control on their first assignment.
You sure have a, uh, unique definition of "lucky."
All in all...
Pleasure working with you.
Are we close now or something?
What is it? Something on your mind?
You have a special aura that attracts me.
Uh, same to you.
What a weirdo.
Did you detect anything?
As expected, he’s nothing special.
Melissa will be thrilled to hear I’ve found a job so quickly.
Th-This is the building from earlier.
What’s happening?
I was almost home, and...
The building across from the kidnapping holds a clue to the Antigonus family’s notebook.
Unit 2, Daffodil Street.
This should be it.
Benson!
Welcome home.
So are we really going to live here?
Banish all doubts, Benson.
This is our home from now on.
It’s just our Iron Cross Street lease isn’t up yet,
so the greedy landlord won’t agree to terminate it.
Don’t worry. I’ll go talk to him.
After all, he’s not even as smart as a curly-haired baboon.
It smells so good.
Klein, is it really your first time making this?
Of course. Go on. Try it.
Eat some more if you like it.
Klein.
This is...
You have a job now. You need to be presentable.
Must’ve been expensive.
Benson saved up in secret for a long time.
Come on. Try it on and see if it fits.
It suits you.
Yup, it really suits you.
I really like it. Thank you, Benson and Melissa.
There’s no need to thank us. We’re family.
Come. Let’s toast to Klein finding a good job.
And to our new home.
And to our lives getting better and better from now on.
Praise the Lady!

Tearing your soul to pieces will be my greatest mercy to you.
H-Honorable Oracle, allow me to offer an explanation in my defense.
The Antigonus family’s notebook is very strange.
No matter what we do, it’s just a regular notebook in our hands.
That’s why we found some sacrificial lambs to investigate it.
We didn’t betray the Aurora Order, I swear!
But your foolish sacrifices died.
And the notebook is now in the hands of those Nighthawks.
Keeping you fools around will only be a hindrance to our master’s return.
No. There’s still one lamb left alive.
He handed the notebook to the Nighthawks.
He must have discovered something.
Oracle, I will deal with that lamb as soon as possible,
and find the notebook for you. So please forgive me.
This is your final chance.
Klein Moretti.
Oh, Klein.
You’re here.
What will we be doing today, Old Neil?
I will teach you some advanced mysticism knowledge: ritualistic magic.
Of the ritualistic magic performed by Low-Sequence Beyonders,
almost all of it seeks external powers and aid.
We must first prepare the items needed for the ritual,
then chant the corresponding incantation to seek aid.
I will demonstrate. You observe and try to remember the details.
A wall of spirituality?
Always remember the biggest taboo in ritualistic magic:
you must never attempt to communicate with the unknown.
You will slide down a slippery slope into the abyss, where you will remain, awaiting death.
Seems my luck enhancement ritual sought power from an unknown entity.
I pray for the power of the dark night.
I pray for the power of crimson.
I pray for the Goddess’s loving grace.
Please furnish me with the funds to pay off my 30 pound debt.
Huh?
A 30 pound debt? What the hell?
Praise the Lady.
So your debt’s settled now? But how?
Don’t worry. The Goddess has given her guidance.
Now, we wait.
Look. Here we go.
Did he really just pick up some money?
A rich person’s wallet, no less.
Like I said, it will be settled in a reasonable manner.
See?
My apologies, sirs. I believe you have my wallet.
What will you do now? Surely the Goddess won’t make you deny it’s his wallet?
Or will you refuse to return it?
Sir, your crest is irrefutable proof that this is yours. Please guard your wallet well.
An earnest person deserves the sincerest of thanks.
Please do not refuse this reward of 30 pounds.
You are a most kind and generous gentleman indeed.
And that’s the power of magic.
"Power of magic," my foot!
Ah, Klein. I saw ignorance and shamefully weak trust in your eyes just now.
Don’t you know the Mystery Pryers’ motto?
"Do as you wish, but do no harm."
Emperor Roselle’s diary said the key to potions is digestion and acting.
The Mystery Pryers’ motto may imply acting,
but it’s not true acting.
The potion seemed to digest before.
Was it because I kept using divination in battle?
Did that count as "acting" as a Seer?
Sir.
Are you interested in divination?
Divination Club?
Inverted.
I regret to say you will not make it back to your desired location any time soon.
However...
It appears to be a possibility long-term.
So I might return to Earth in this lifetime?
Thank you.
Your divination fee.
Joining this place should help me improve my "acting" as a Seer.
Mr. Glacis, I suggest you see a doctor as soon as possible.
Mainly for your lungs.
And, um, you seem to have a dark spot between your eyes.
Are you a doctor? Or a herbalist?
Neither.
I am a Seer.
Here is your receipt for the five pound club fee.
Welcome to the Tingen City Divination Club.
Thanks, Emperor Roselle, for the great reimbursement policy.
Mr. Moretti.
It would seem you’re the outstanding Seer Mr. Vincent mentioned.
Mr. Vincent?
Our best fortune teller.
This morning, he said an outstanding Seer would visit us today.
That must be you.
Oh?
Too bad it’s already late. Mr. Vincent’s divination classes are about to end.
I believe today’s class was on magic mirror divination.
"Magic mirror divination"?
In mysticism, mirrors are connected to mystery and the unknown, like doors of the spiritual world.
The Lady of Crimson. The Mother of Secrets.
If you are not careful, it will result in tragedy.
The Empress of Disaster and Horror. The Mistress of Calm and Silence.
Excellent. In ritualistic magic such as magic mirror divination,
we use incantations with three descriptions to represent the Seven Orthodox Gods.
Everyone here is a worshiper of the Evernight Goddess.
It’s fine. They’re praying to the Seven Orthodox Gods. A safe form of magic mirror divination.
So as long as we chant the Goddess’s name, we will receive guidance.
For the time being at least, I won’t have to tell the captain to "check" their gas meter one night.
He’s very healthy everywhere else. He just has some... problems there.
Thank you, Mr. Vincent.
Are my senses playing tricks on me?
Something the matter, lad?
Mr. Vincent. I’m Klein Moretti, the new Seer.
Take a seat.
My divination intuition tells me that hope hides deep in your soul,
and that is what guided you here.
Everyone has things they hope for.
But for this hope, you are confused and you exhaust yourself.
You even came close to losing your life.
He’s certainly an outstanding fortune teller. Very talented.
Then, how do I overcome this predicament?
Your difficulty stems from self-suppression and self-limitation.
My divination intuition hints at two words:
"Gathering."
"Family."
Take that as a gift. I hope it will help you out of your predicament.
"Family"? "Gathering"? Could that be referring to the gathering above the gray fog?
Thank you, Mr. Vincent.
I believe your hints will be of great help to me.
Four soli for one session? That’s almost my family’s daily budget.
Thank goodness it was free this time.
As a Seer facing divination seekers,
succeeding in divinations, and receiving thanks and...
...money will be the catalyst for the potion’s digestion.
So the core of my "act" should be:
In the eyes of everyone else, I am a respectable and real Seer.
From how it looks, the way back home is likely hidden in that gray fog.
If I want to use the gray fog’s power to return to Earth, I have two paths I can map out.
The first is to digest the potion,
continue advancing, and see if I can use my own Beyonder powers to control the gray fog.
But that way, finding clues on the Clown potion and subsequent potions will be key.
Furthermore, advancement as a Beyonder takes a very long time.
My second option is to amend the descriptions in the luck enhancement ritual
and redirect the chant on to myself. If I can link myself to the gray fog,
then maybe I can use the incantations to borrow the gray fog’s power.
What descriptions should I use?
The Fool that doesn’t belong to this era.
The mysterious ruler above the gray fog.
The King of Yellow and Black...
who wields good luck.
If it all goes smoothly,
I might even be able to amend the entire prayer and go straight home.
Melissa?
Come look.
I made it today.
If you ever feel troubled, just watch it move.
You’ll feel a lot better.
Simplicity and structure does bring relaxation.
You made this yourself?
Yup.
What a well-crafted little turtle.
It’s a human doll.
Huh?
Do you have to go to work again, Klein?
Yes, Melissa.
Ever since you started working, you’ve been very busy every day.
Uh, what I mean is, however busy you get, you still need to relax now and again.
Right.
Oh, yeah. My friend, Selena, invited us to her birthday banquet.
Let’s go together if you’re free Sunday.
A birthday banquet?
Going to a gathering with family?
My divination intuition hints at two words:
"Gathering."
"Family."
Sure.
Good afternoon, Mr. Fool.
Good afternoon, Mr. Hanged Man.
Good afternoon, Miss Justice.
Mr. Hanged Man appears to be a deep blue sea of surging storms and waves.
While Miss Justice is as calm and quiet as a lake.
My Spirit Vision seems to be amplified above this gray fog.
Congratulations, Miss Justice.
Thank you, Mr. Fool.
And thank you, Mr. Hanged Man, for helping me to become a Spectator.
Can they not see that?
The Dragon, plus the Storm.
The Storm represents the Sailor pathway. That’s straightforward.
Does the Dragon represent Spectator?
Then, the constellation symbol behind me is...
The Pupil-less Eye that represents concealment? The Contorted Lines that represent change?
But each one is incomplete.
For the two to be overlapping...
What does it mean?
You may speak freely.
Mr. Fool, Mr. Hanged Man, I have three questions I’d like to ask,
and will offer payment for answers.
My first question:
Is there anything I should be aware of now I’m a Spectator?
Allow me to answer.
First of all, a Spectator will forever be an onlooker.
You must maintain a strictly detached attitude.
Spectate calmly and with objectivity.
From minute clues, you can grasp at true thoughts.
To be an absolutely objective spectator? That’s equivalent to some level of acting.
Furthermore, you must grasp the potion’s power, tap into what the potion’s name represents,
and avoid losing control as much as possible.
The meaning of a potion lies mainly in its name, such as "Spectator."
It’s not about grasping, but rather digesting.
It’s not about discovery, but rather acting.
The name of a potion is not only symbolism,
it’s also imagery.
It is the "key" to digesting.
Digesting, acting... Digesting, acting... Digesting, acting...
The key!
Thank you, Mr. Fool.
Your hint is as valuable as my life.
Thank you, Mr. Fool.
Continue.
My second question is:
If an animal were to drink a Sequence 9 potion,
what would happen?
Miss Justice...
What have you done?
Success!
Quick. Note it down.
Susie?!
In such situations, the likeliest probability is instant death or transforming into a monster.
If neither scenario occurs, then it should become a Beyonder creature.
I see.
Then, I have one final question.
Lately, Loen’s royalty and nobility have been looking to reform.
Fath-I mean, they believe it’s the ministers’ stupidity causing productivity to plummet,
and destabilizing society.
But where can so many skilled replacements be found?
Finding skilled individuals is simple.
Hold a fair exam that is open to the public.
This will mark out reliable, skilled individuals, who will then serve the kingdom and its people.
For all people, mind. Not just the nobility, but the common people as well.
Establish a high-level examination.
You can call it...
the Higher Exam.
"Higher Exam"?
Mr. Fool, you must be old and highly intelligent, and must have experienced much in your life!
Consider it a down payment.
Mr. Fool, what would you have us do?
I have an assignment for you.
On my behalf, please retrieve Roselle Gustav’s...
secret diary.
Roselle’s secret text is a diary?
How would he know? Can he understand it?
On top of that, there is one more thing for which I require your cooperation.
I am at your command, Mr. Fool.
In your spare time on Sunday, attempt some ritualistic magic.
You two already understand the steps for performing ritualistic magic.
This time, pray for a good dream.
If it succeeds, we can alter it slightly next time,
so that when you are unavailable for gatherings, you may request an absence.
That is exactly what we hope for. The incantation, Mr. Fool?
"The Fool that doesn’t belong to this era."
"The mysterious ruler above the gray fog."
"The King of Yellow and Black who wields good luck."
A three-part honorific name?
Mr. Fool is an entity almost equal to the Seven Orthodox Gods?
If ritualistic magic can really be directed on to him...
then we must honor him as a god.
Mr. Fool may well be an entity that’s ancient, concealed, and horrific.
All right. Let us end it here for today.
Remember to perform the ritual on Sunday.
By your will.
Now all that’s left is to verify it.
Sunday’s my day off. Should give me enough time to deal with anything unexpected.
I hope this doesn’t alert the mysterious entity deep within the gray fog.
If I want to act, shouldn’t I look for an opportunity
to tell Benson and Melissa about my identity as a Seer?
Here we are.
Melissa!
Happy birthday, Selena.
Thank you!
I like that dress of yours. It makes you look exceptionally beautiful.
Benson and Klein helped me pick it out.
Here. Your birthday present.
Greetings.
Wow! Thank you!
Come in! I have something to show you.
Your brothers are more handsome than I imagined.
Miss Selena, just how ugly were you imagining me and Benson to be?
Elizabeth!
These two gentlemen are Melissa’s brothers: Mr. Benson and Mr. Klein.
Hello, Mr. Klein.
Quick! I have something to show you both.
The vivacity of youth.
Melissa, having a friend obsessed with the realm of mysticism yet no understanding of it
isn’t a good thing.
The Fool that doesn’t belong to this era.
Has Mr. Hanged Man already begun attempting his ritualistic magic?
The mysterious ruler above the gray fog. The King of Yellow and Black who wields good luck.
I didn’t think Melissa’s brother would be such an outstanding Seer.
Don’t worry. Melissa doesn’t know your secret identity yet.
I’ll keep your secret.
Klein.
Melissa?
I am hoping you and Benson can use this banquet to solve the problem of marriage...
But Elizabeth’s only 16.
Sister, what are you thinking?
Wow. What a beautiful mirror.
Mr. Vincent made it for me. It’s a high-tier magic mirror.
He said these incantations represent an even higher level of connection,
giving a more accurate divination result.
Is that true?
Selena, let’s start.
O spirit that revolves this world.
The grace of the True Creator.
The eyes that look at fate.
The ritual altar has been prepared.
Come, Klein Moretti.
Accept the verdict of your fate!
Magic mirror, magic mirror, tell me:
When will Elizabeth’s gentleman make an appearance?
The second Sunday in half a year?
Really? What about Melissa’s?
I’m curious.
Danger. And not the mild kind, either.
Magic mirror, magic mirror, tell me:
When will Melissa’s gentleman make an appearance?
13 years from now.
Aw, so late?
Magic mirror divination?
Thank goodness. I thought Melissa would end up marrying a mechanical doll.
Magic mirror, magic mirror, tell me:
What will Elizabeth’s gentleman be like?
Hm?
What’s the matter?
How is it? Is there a result yet?
Damn. This will be trickier than I thought.
There’s no time to notify the captain.
There must be a way to save Melissa and the girls.
Oh, right. Ritualistic magic. What Old Neil taught me.
I’ll seek the Evernight Goddess’s power to counter this.
But the tools needed for that ritual...
Excellent. Everything I need is right here.
Ritualistic magic needs some preparation.
I must be quick.
Selena?
Selena? What’s the matter?
Huh?
Elizabeth?
Melissa?
What’s the matter with you two?
Evernight...
Slumber.
Evernight Goddess, you are the Lady of Crimson.
You are the Empress of Disaster and Horror.
I am your loyal guard, the shield that fends off danger in the dark night,
and the long spear that stabs at evil in the silence.
Master!
Please grant me power!
Oh, no.
My spirituality is fading?
Repent, Klein Moretti.
You escaped the mercy of death granted by Master.
You received Beyonder powers that weren’t yours to have.
Tell me, you sinful sacrificial lamb:
What did you discover within the Antigonus family’s notebook?!
Speak in earnest and reveal your concealed secrets,
and I shall spare their lives. Otherwise...
This place shall be the grave for all of you.
Melissa.
Melissa.
The Fool that doesn’t belong to this era.
The mysterious ruler above the gray fog.
The King of Yellow and Black who wields good luck.
I pray for your aid. I pray for your grace.
This voice...
It’s Miss Justice. She’s attempting ritualistic magic.
To you, I pray: Please grant me a good dream.
What’s happening?
Death is how lambs follow their master’s will!
Klein Moretti!
I pray for the power of the dark night.
I pray for the power of crimson.
I pray for the Goddess’s loving grace.
I pray that you will cleanse your devout believer, Selena Wood,
from evil’s corruption and keep her safe from danger.
I didn’t really think that three-part honorific could be directed at me by using the gray fog.
It’s all thanks to Miss Justice’s prayer that I was able to gather myself,
and use the gray fog’s powers to save myself.
If not for that...
Even if the act requires it, my identity as a Seer should be kept secret from Melissa and Benson.
The realm of mysticism is too risky. I cannot put my family in harm’s way.
No... Impossible.
Hanass Vincent, accept your master’s grace.
Something strange about Hanass Vincent?
According to Selena, the magic mirror was a gift from him.
I also suspect Vincent has ties to an evil order that’s eyeing the Antigonus family’s notebook.
They’re the same as the incantations at Selena’s house.
What kind of evil entity is the True Creator?
Let me sleep a little while longer.
My lady, you must rise now and make preparations for the royal celebrations.
You may enter.
The garments and jewels you selected last night, my lady.
Annie, I want to wear the dress Guinea designed for my 17th birthday.
You mustn’t, my lady.
People will say the Hall family must be in dire financial straits
for you to wear the same dress for two different occasions.
Very well. I’ll wear this one.
It’s amazing, Susie. The ironclad ships have a test voyage today.
I’ll finally get to see large cannon ships.
Dizzy, dizzy.
Hello? Who’s there?
So dizzy.
Susie?
Since when could you talk?
I, uh, don’t know how to explain.
After all...
I am just a dog.

If I know the answer, I will tell you.
Mr. Azik, about these erratic fluctuations in my fate...
Do you still see them right now?
In the last two to three months, have you often noticed coincidences?
Coincidences?
Perhaps the clue is hidden within them.
Like that item you mentioned on your previous visit.
The Antigonus family’s notebook?
We have it.
Good morning, Mr. Neil, Mr. Klein.
Good morning, Kenley.
Is today a holiday I didn’t know about?
Oh, um, I got engaged yesterday, so...
Something worth celebrating, for sure.
Got engaged?
Congratulations, young Kenley.
At last. The Tingen Nighthawks are finally breaking the curse of not finding romance.
"Breaking the curse"?
That’s a good idea.
I should write that down.
Writing novels again, Seeka?
What’s it about this time?
A thousand-year bloodline curse.
A demon hunter falls for a ravishing witch.
An extraordinarily tragic and painful romance.
Sounds like it hits all the right buttons.
The Loenese web novel community needs you, Miss Seeka.
The workday morning brings joy and satisfaction,
and my heart always stirs with poems.
But you can’t write poems.
On a day like this,
we should just call it a holiday and go dine and drink wine together.
Today’s patrols are as follows:
Kenley and Seeka: the West Borough and Golden Indus areas.
Leonard and Royale will stay at Blackthorn and keep watch.
Frye and I will patrol the North Borough and Raphael Cemetery.
Understood.
Captain, what about me?
You?
Oh, come on, Captain. You really forgot to assign me a task?
There’s no helping it. That’s just Nightmare’s unique style.
Reality and dreams intertwine, and it’s difficult to distinguish between the two.
If one day, the Captain suddenly remembers everything,
we’ll know something’s very wrong.
You can go relieve Frye in a bit and watch over the Chanis Gate.
By myself?
Don’t be nervous. It’s usually quiet.
But remember, whatever sounds you may hear, never open the Chanis Gate,
unless it opens from inside.
That just makes me more nervous.
Besides, it’s been almost two months since you joined the Nighthawks.
You need to submit a performance review to the Holy Cathedral. 10,000 words minimum.
Wait, 10,000 words for a performance review?
There’s this many?
Elliott’s kidnapping.
The "Ray Bieber goes berserk" incident.
The case of Hanass Vincent’s Magic Mirror dark divination.
A Deweyville Library record?
It’s the Chanis Gate?
Klein!
The Chanis Gate?
Just now...
Sealed Artifact 3-0625.
The Misfortune Cloth Puppet.
What are you doing?
Losing control while guarding the Chanis Gate is grave for a watchman.
Other dioceses have reported tragedies.
The on-duty Nighthawks...
They all disappeared. Perished without a trace.
They lacked shelter in the cold.
The Evernight did not forsake them, but bestowed them with love.
Klein, what happened?
The Chanis Gate opened briefly.
Mr. Neil! Is something wrong?
I’ve had constipation problems, so I did some ritualistic magic earlier, but...
Bath... Bathroom!
Ritualistic magic is very dangerous.
No abnormalities after recital.
Everything’s fine now, Klein. You’re still our trustworthy companion.
You suspected I wasn’t?
It’s standard procedure, Klein.
From your description, it really was the Misfortune Cloth Puppet.
But it’s been here decades and never displayed any traits of being "alive."
For it to suddenly come to life and lure the watchman of the Gate can only mean one thing.
It’s been affected by a newly arrived Sealed Artifact.
Only one new Sealed Artifact has been placed behind Chanis Gate.
But it only stayed there for a few nights.
You’re talking about...
the Antigonus family’s notebook.
Mr. Fool really can read the drawing-like Roselle secret texts.
I was too reckless. Too foolish. I shouldn’t have dared to observe Mr. Fool.
I must thank my lucky stars that I haven’t angered him.
July 14th: I saw that mysterious man, Mr. Zaratul, again.
Mr. Zaratul? A descendant of the Zaratul family from the Fourth Epoch?
To my surprise, he leads an ancient organization: the Secret Order.
He tells me his Sequence 9 was Seer...
Lower-level Sequences must act strictly to digest their potion...
...steal a dangerous Sealed Artifact.
...a relic of the Antigonus family.
I asked him for more details, but he merely smiled at me.
To hell with his grinning face!
Once I’m a high-Sequence Beyonder, I’ll beat up every Seer I come across!
Great Emperor, may you rest in peace.
I’m very pleased with the pages of Roselle’s diary you found this time.
It’s our honor.
You may interact freely now.
Mr. Fool, by following your guidance,
I’ve been feeling a lot of progress in my digestion of the potion.
I’d like to ask: when will I fully digest the Spectator potion?
Good question, Miss Justice.
I have just seen the answer.
For lower-level Sequences, if you strictly follow the acting method,
it can take anywhere from one month to half a year.
One month?!
Half a year?!
Thank you for clearing up my confusion, Mr. Fool. I have no further questions.
Recently, I’ve heard rumors of a Sequence 8 Listener from the Aurora Order,
who is seeking the Holy Residence of the True Creator.
The True Creator?
Many hidden organizations believe the Creator did not fully die,
but instead left behind a core: the True Creator.
Allegedly, the card of the Hanged Man
was created by Emperor Roselle using the True Creator as reference.
Nothing I’ve said is incorrect, is it, Mr. Fool?
I’m more inclined to call Him:
the Fallen Creator.
F-Fallen?
As expected of Mr. Fool. He’s incisive even when evaluating the True Creator.
Thank you for your guidance, Mr. Fool.
Beyonders who worship the True-I mean, the Fallen Creator...
tend to lose control more often than non-worshipers.
If I may ask, what would you like as payment?
More of Roselle’s secret diary. Or perhaps...
Any information on the Antigonus family’s situation.
I don’t know much about the Antigonus family.
Only that they possess an eerie, terrifying pathway.
The family’s history can be traced back to the Third Epoch, the Cataclysm Epoch.
In the fourth, the Epoch of the Gods, the Antigonus, Amon, and Abraham families
supported the Blood Emperor in his quest to form the Tudor Empire.
At the end of the Fourth Epoch, the Evernight Goddess destroyed the Antigonus family.
Excellent.
That will be all for today.
By your will.
By your will.
So the Antigonus family was destroyed by the Evernight Goddess?
Eerie and frightening?
Which pathway is that?
What’s the Antigonus family relic Zaratul of the Secret Order wanted the Emperor to steal?
The Secret Order has the Seer pathway.
Does that mean I can obtain subsequent potion recipes from them?
Is it the notebook?
Calm down.
I need to deal with problems one by one.
First...
Mr. Azik mentioned coincidences.
When chasing the kidnapper,
a clue to the Antigonus family’s notebook appeared across the room.
Bieber absorbed the notebook’s power before leaving Tingen,
allowing 2-049 to easily locate him.
Vincent led Selena to perform the Magic Mirror dark divination, which I happened to discover.
But I didn’t see anything strange in my previous divinations.
Was there interference from the real world?
The true cause behind Elliott’s kidnapping.
There is interference.
Who’s behind all of this?
What’s their goal?
The Antigonus family’s notebook?
Elliott’s kidnapping was specifically plotted to give me a lead to the notebook?
What does this mean?
The real reason Ray Bieber stayed in Tingen.
The truth behind Hanass Vincent’s Magic Mirror dark divination.
The same as the last divination.
The answer’s no clearer.
Iron Cross Street, Daffodil Street, Blackthorn...
The area’s so large. I can’t interpret this.
Is it because my spirituality isn’t enough to get a clearer divination result?
I should start prioritizing my advancement.
But the potion’s digestion has stalled lately.
The acting part’s fine.
Interpreting divinations. Following their guidance.
Maintaining a fearful respect of fate. Remaining humble.
Not blindly trusting my interpretation.
I’ve always done that.
But my digestion’s at a standstill.
That proves a true Seer has more than just the principle of acting.
The lead to the Clown potion.
Bieber’s corpse?
What is that? A glowing brain?
The Clown’s corpse?
Welch and Vincent?
The notebook again?
Do I use the notebook to lure out the Secret Order,
and get the recipe to the Clown potion from there?
But what’s with that brain-like thing and the red orb of blood?
And who is this person?
My sincerest apologies, Miss Christina.
Mr. Moretti isn’t at the club right now-
Oh, Mr. Moretti! What are you doing here?
Good morning.
Hornacis?
Over 10,000 pounds?
Madam, if it’s Lavenus’s whereabouts you’d like to divine,
you’ll need not only a portrait of him, but also very detailed information,
or an item he’s owned for a long time.
They were right. You really are a Seer.
Then, would his child work?
Here, this is my niece, Megose.
Neither of us worship the Lord of Storms,
and we don’t believe in chastity before marriage.
But Lavenus ran off with all our savings,
and the debt collectors came looking for him. We have to find him!
He played her, then stole her money. What a scumbag.
If the baby were out of the womb, it might work,
but unfortunately, that will take a good few months.
No need for a few months.
Where will I find the nearest clinic?
What are you thinking?!
The child is not his father.
He’s a very thoughtful child.
Every day, he only kicks gently,
and he even hums and whistles to soothe me to sleep.
Hums and whistles? Is the shock of it all messing with her head?
I won’t give up my child!
Megose, stop being so naive!
Having the child of a fraud will only put you on a thorny path!
Praise the Lady.
I thought you would be here tomorrow, Mr. Moretti.
That was my original plan, but I had a dream.
I dreamed of Mr. Vincent with this man.
I’ve seen this person before.
About a month ago, he and Mr. Vincent had a bit of a to-do just outside the door.
Do you suspect this man is related to Mr. Vincent’s death?
So you’re aware that a Seer’s dream may very well be a hint from the gods?
Of course! Oh, it’s just like in Madam Fors’s novel!
"Madam Fors"?
In Madam Fors’s detective stories, the murderer’s often hidden in plain sight
right by the victim’s side!
Angelica’s passion for whodunits burns bright.
Could you make out what they were saying?
I can’t remember.
I think there was something about ruins...
Ruins?
The ruins on the Hornacis range’s main peak?
The Deweyville Library.
The borrowing record of the Hornacis Archaeology Journal for the past few months, officer.
Thank you.
Lavenus?
If it’s about the Hornacis iron ore investment fraud case,
then searching for related info is reasonable.
This name...
It first appears in late May,
then disappears from July 14th onwards.
July 15th was the date of Vincent’s death.
He must be laying low.
Sirius Arapis.
Is this the man?
Thank you. Where can I find these archaeology journals?
Over there.
It’s him.
The guy I saw in my Clown potion divination.
This is too coincidental.
This isn’t good. He looks pretty strong. Should I confront him?
No, let’s not be rash. Life’s about following your heart.
Steady as she goes. I’ll go notify the captain-
He ran off?
Call the police.
Uh-oh. An omen of control being lost.
That’s all? I sure am the king of good luck.
What pathway could possibly be weaker than a Seer like me?
His Spirit Body’s dissipating so quickly.
I fear I won’t get time to ask about the notebook.
I’ll ask about the Clown potion first.
The recipe for the Clown potion.
The Hanged Giant?
The True Creator?
Captain?
Communicating with the Spirit Body of a berserk Beyonder is a very rash thing to do.
Your good fortune may save you once or twice, but not every time.
I’m sorry. I got ahead of myself.
I’ll take that to heart, Captain. It won’t happen again.
You sure are lucky.
I feel you, Beyonders, and these evil powers share some fateful bonds.
The Beyonder incidents you’ve seen so far are more than we encounter in an entire season.
The Spirit Body’s gone. Communication won’t work.
"Dear Mr. Z..."
Seems it’s our old friends in the Aurora Order.
Mr. Z?
All 22 Oracles of the Aurora Order are represented by letters.
"Vincent and I didn’t find anything else of value in the Antigonus family’s notebook,
aside from the potion recipes I provided to you for Seer, Apprentice, and Clown."
I just got the recipe to the Clown potion.
But alas, the link severed and I didn’t get anything else.
Good. But the Clown potion recipe still needs to be appraised by the Holy Cathedral.
What else does it say?
"The Antigonus family must have left behind some secret treasure of resurgence."
"As the power that holds the Seer pathway,
they should have predictions about their annihilation."
"There’s reason to believe this treasure is on the main peak of the Hornacis mountain range,
within the Nation of the Evernight ruins."
"Lastly, my dear Mr. Z,
I am making preparations for Doomsday."
"I hope to receive your aid."
"When Doomsday arrives,
I shall present all of Tingen as sacrificial sheep to the master."
"Signed, your insignificant servant, Sirius Arapis."
So he was Sirius.
The "eerie, frightening" pathway of the Antigonus family is the Seer pathway?
No wonder I’ve been hearing "Hornacis" ever since I drank that potion.
Then, what’s "Flegrea"?
And that hidden treasure... Is that real?
No, stop, stop.
Just the notebook caused so many deaths. An actual treasure would be horrifying.
I feel you, Beyonders, and these evil powers share some fateful bonds.
Fateful bonds?
Can these be more than just coincidences?
The Secret Order lost possession of the Antigonus family’s notebook.
Directly leading to Klein’s suicide by gunshot.
And then...
I transmigrated into Klein’s body,
and was influenced by Emperor Roselle’s diary into becoming a Seer.
And Emperor Roselle wanted to choose the Seer pathway
because of Zaratul, the leader of the Secret Order,
and a high-Sequence Beyonder of the Seer pathway.
Golly. What kind of fateful entanglement is this?
I went to the library today, and Sirius immediately appeared.
I needed the Clown potion recipe, and I got it easily right away.
Plus, all those coincidences before...
Just what is hidden behind this net of fate?
If...
If everything I’ve been through was by design by someone behind the scenes,
then the first and biggest coincidence in my fate...
would be the day Klein shot himself.
This won’t work after all.
It’s naive of me to try and rely on divination to find the truth.
After all, divination is not all-powerful.
This is...
The potion’s been fully digested?
So the key to digestion is...
not relying on divination?
"Divination is not all-powerful" is the final acting principle?
I’ve succeeded.
Red smokestacks?
That’s where the person behind the scenes is?
The Lord that created everything.
The Lord who reigns behind the curtain of shadows.
The degenerate nature of all living things.
Your devout acolytes pray for your coming!
Antigonus family.
Hidden treasure.
The Nation of the Evernight ruins.
I completely forgot that scene. But why?
Is it because the notebook doesn’t want other people to know
about that vertical pupil full of concealed symbols?

Those red smokestacks.
I haven’t found any new leads using my divination ever since last time.
Even with the gray fog, the interference remained.
Whoever’s behind this, they’re strong.
I should consider a more advantageous trump card than just advancing to Clown.
Weapons? Aside from guns, I only have charms.
Charms?
Oh, yeah! The Flaring Sun Charm!
I need to find a way to take advantage of that blood from the Eternal Blazing Sun.
Klein.
Mr. Azik.
Have you been quite busy lately? You look exhausted.
I’ve been trying to track down the person behind it all. It’s making me a bit anxious.
They haven’t shown any cracks since they noticed my gaze.
Relax. Don’t get too fixated on it.
Perhaps a turning point is just one thought away.
Yes, Mr. Azik.
Mr. Azik, there’s something I’d like you to help me with.
An unnamed island? What is this?
My apologies, Mr. Fool. I wasn’t able to locate a new page of Roselle’s Diary.
No need to worry. It is something that will come with time.
But I’ve been in contact with a few secret Beyonder circles
in the hopes of obtaining more diary pages.
Honorable Mr Fool. Mr. Hanged Man.
I hope to receive some information on hidden organizations.
Don’t look at me.
The all-knowing Mr. Fool in front of you is only Bronze tier.
Most of these organizations stay hidden in the shadows.
What I know is the tip of the iceberg.
I can only get someone else to find out more.
That would be troublesome and very dangerous.
I’ll happily listen to the bits you do know.
Even if you are, you’ll still need to pay a great price.
A-A price?
What kind of "price" are you referring to?
1,000 pounds. In non-consecutive old banknotes.
Damn. 1,000 pounds?
A sum that’d buy you a mansion for just the "tip of an iceberg"?
That’s too expensive.
Miss Justice may be a noble, but that’s still too much to find at a moment’s notice.
No problem.
Would you like it sent to the same address?
Mr. Hanged Man?
Correct. The same address.
To the same recipient.
Wow, man. She’s loaded. 1,000 pounds, just like that?
Calm down, Zhou Mingrui. It’s only money.
I need to keep my composure as Mr. Fool.
You may begin, Mr. Hanged Man.
Currently, there are over 100 secret organizations with considerable influence.
Ancient organizations from the Fourth Epoch include the Secret Order,
the Demoness Sect, and the Moses Ascetic Order.
The earliest-recognized of these is the Moses Ascetic Order.
Sequence 9 of their pathway is Mystery Pryer.
That’s Old Neil’s pathway.
This organization’s members worship knowledge itself,
and call their god: the Hidden Sage.
Early on, the Moses Ascetic Order was widely respected.
But it’s fallen from grace and become an evil organization.
Why is that? Worshiping knowledge isn’t evil.
But what if knowledge itself were to become alive?
Legend has it the Hidden Sage came to life.
He became the personification of an evil god.
Orders born early in this epoch include the Rose School of Thought,
and the Numinous Episcopate that worships Death.
Both from the Southern Continent.
As for the Aurora Order, Element Dawn, the Psychology Alchemists and so on,
they only appeared in the last 200 to 300 years.
Thank you very much for the information, Mr. Hanged Man.
I have no more questions, Mr. Fool.
Very well. Let us end there for today.
By your will.
The Numinous Episcopate that worships Death? I feel like they have a link to Mr. Azik.
I haven’t heard back from Mr. Azik in days about the help I asked for.
He didn’t forget, did he?
Extra! Extra!
Strange paranormal events down at the docks today!
Will it drive out the Evernight Goddess’s worshippers,
Hey, boy!
or is there some hidden truth to it?
What is it, sir?
Wait there. I’ll buy a paper from you.
Careful.
Benson? Melissa?
Why are you two home so early?
Klein, is that a gun?
Um, this is actually, uh...
I’m also working part-time as a history consultant for the police. The gun’s standard issue.
I’ll be back late, so don’t wait for me at dinner.
Did something good happen to Klein? He’s looking very chipper.
No casualties. Only worshippers of the Evernight Goddess were targeted.
Mr. Azik must’ve begun taking action.
Hey, what’s the rush? You’re not even here once in 800 years.
Now you’re here, you’re not leaving.
Mr. Neil and...
Oh, it’s him.
I told you I’m on a mission.
You think you can complete all the missions in the world?
You need to learn to relax in this job.
Hey, Wright. Two Southville beers. They’re on him.
Damn you, old man. You just want to use my tab.
Hello, sirs. Mr. Neil.
Oh, Klein! Fancy seeing you here.
Wright, one more. Put it on-
On his tab. Yeah, I know.
Cheers!
Perfect.
Don’t drink so fast. I won’t save you if you start choking to death.
You’re here about the incident at the docks.
Right. That accursed affair. Hauntings that target specific worshippers?
And only Evernight Goddess followers?
The docks are Mandated Punishers territory. There’s rumors aplenty now.
I should meet up with Dunn.
Mandated Punishers and Nighthawks can’t fall out over rumors.
Those in the shadows would laugh at us.
You suspect an evil order was behind it?
Our preliminary investigations point that way.
The Mandated Punishers also aren’t in a position to investigate non-worshippers of the Lord of Storms.
Lanti Proof. Fill ’er up.
Those Spirit Bodies were highly unusual. Difficult to expel.
They appeared to be very ancient. Like they were the dead from the Fourth Epoch.
Well, that confirms it was Mr. Azik’s doing.
From here on out, it’s my turn.
Here, allow me to make a toast to both of you.
Bottoms up!
I still have a mission to do.
Next time, come to the bar by the docks. We’ll drink the night away.
By the way...
You’re Klein, right?
I saw it in you last time, but you’re a rare talent.
Listen, why don’t you join the Mandated Punishers-
All right, out of here, you.
Neil, you owe me two beers. You’d better pay me back double next time.
Off I go!
Mr. Havre sure is a jovial straight-shooter.
Pfft, as if. He’s just a drunk.
Pardon the intrusion.
Old Neil, the captain’s looking for you.
The dock incident is quite suspicious.
You’re more familiar with that area. Leonard and Kenley are both green.
Go with them to deal with this.
Huh? Me?
Captain, allow me.
A sudden incident with strange Spirit Bodies sounds like a job for divination.
Exactly. Things like this should be left to the young guns.
Ah, ouch. My poor old back can’t cope anymore.
A new policy was introduced recently.
Anyone over 50 gets double the subsidy for missions.
I think Klein has a point.
I will help him use divination correctly to investigate.
Be careful. Don’t act impulsively.
Yes, Captain.
Captain, I hear those Spirit Bodies are difficult to deal with.
Do you have any good methods to quickly expel them?
Well, about that...
Only 3-0782 is suitable.
Oh, the Mutated Sun Sacred Emblem?
Last time, it only took a minute to expel the Wraiths at the old castle. If we use it here-
No.
The docks are crowded. It’d be too risky.
If any regular people are around, they’ll be Sun-praising idiots within an hour.
That is a problem, but we should still plan ahead for the worst-case scenario.
What if there’s a strong Wraith among those dead spirits?
As it’s the Mandated Punishers’ jurisdiction, if we’re unable to contain the situation,
you’ll need to call them for backup, and that’s, uh...
Well, it wouldn’t exactly be good for the Nighthawks’ reputation.
All right. But you’d best keep your eyes open for danger.
Remember, never stay in the same location for more than hour.
Yes, sir.
You came up with ways to go on a mission with me on purpose, didn’t you?
Huh?
Well, I suggest you give up on your unrealistic fantasies.
Even while on a mission, you’ll never discover my secret.
Who cares about your secret, buddy?
Don’t be such a narcissist.
Excuse me.
Might you sirs be Nighthawk officers?
Ah, yes.
Good day, officers. I-I’ve heard so much about the Nighthawks.
Ah, I’m Gate, the new sergeant overseeing the docks.
Please follow me, officers.
There are currently a number of supernatural incidents, and here’s where it’s most severe.
Who are these people?
They must be here to perform an exorcism.
An exorcism?
Handsome fella like that?
Ya only see those men in the arms of politicians and noble ladies. Can he even do other stuff?
The two in the middle are wet behind the ears.
Hey, isn’t that Old Neil? I hear he’s worth his salt.
Worthless, if you ask me. He’s an old man.
He’s going to become a ghost before he exorcises any.
Hey, stop it with this nonsense. Go now. Move along.
It’s crowded here.
Will it make it inconvenient for you officers to use your abilities?
Rest assured, everyone. We are indeed professionals.
For this exorcism, we’ve specifically prepared...
holy water, a sacred emblem, and garlic.
I read about exorcism in the papers. Those are the essentials.
They really are professionals!
Excellent. Nighthawk officer transforms into fake guru on the spot.
Emperor Roselle once said, "Form over substance."
So we should begin without further ado..
Officer Gate, please call for reinforcements.
This haunting caused by Mr. Azik sure is authentic.
Oh. brother. Stick to the act. Don’t expose me.
E-E-Everyone, be careful!
This isn’t a usual dead spirit. Keep control of the possessed, and endure for a minute.
3-0782 is activating.
What happened?
What’s going on?
By the Goddess’s blessings. That was just a minor episode.
And now, our exorcist will officially start the ritual of cleansing the evil spirits.
Why me?
Newcomer benefits.
Huh? Is that how exorcism works?
That’s not what the papers described.
I pray, by your powers: cleanse the evil spirits.
This is such a warm feeling.
Yes! Just like bathing in the sun.
That was magical. That’s professional exorcists for you!
Praise the Lady.
Are you all right, madam?
Mr. Havre?
He... He’s kicking.
Thank you, sir. You saved us.
May my Lord give you His blessings.
She seems in a better frame of mind than before.
Has her family accepted the child?
Havre, didn’t you have an urgent mission? Why are you dillydallying here?
Look there. That’s my mission.
My job is to follow this poor lass to see if we can find out where her fiancé, Lanevus, is.
Lanevus?
The one behind that 10,000 pounds scam?
The higher-ups want to know if there’s Beyonder involvement, but we’ve found none so far.
I reckon we’ll close it as a regular fraud case in a couple of days.
Drink less lest you drink yourself to death.
Drink myself to death?
There’s no better way to go!
Be seein’ you.
Mr. Neil, you seem rather close with Mr. Havre.
We’re both old men here in Tingen. Familiarity is natural after so long here.
In the old days, our group of friends would come to my place to drink in our downtime.
Celeste would play the piano for us.
Celeste?
My wife.
She passed many years ago now.
Of our group of old men, only myself and Havre are still around.
Don’t give me that look.
Death is life’s final resting place.
For folk like us, if we don’t die from losing control, we count it as a blessing from the gods.
All right. Go expel the rest of the evil spirits.
Don’t waste time now.
This old bag of bones won’t be joining you for that.
Finally. All expelled.
But that was strange.
Such difficult spirits to remove, yet the possessed weren’t really harmed.
I’ve never seen anything like it.
Use divination to find the cause.
Sure.
The cause of the docks incident.
I can’t see a thing.
I guess that tracks. Mr. Azik’s so high in status.
Unless he lets me, I’m not going to see anything with divination.
What you saw is likely the Inverted Pyramid in the Southern Continent.
Whether it’s East or West Balam, or the Highlands Kingdom,
only the so-called descendants of Death build these mausoleums for themselves.
Death? The being that started the Pale Disaster alongside the Primordial Demoness?
Worshippers of Death?
Creating evil hauntings... What’s their goal?
Mr. Azik awoke surrounded by corpses.
Was that the battlefield of the Pale Disaster?
If Mr. Azik really is a descendant of Death,
I should be even warier of whoever’s behind all this, and their theft of the skull of Mr. Azik’s son.
Let’s leave it there.
Usual procedure. One person will keep watch over 3-0782 while the others rest.
We’ll change shifts every hour.
Finally. What I’ve been waiting for.
All charms within the Evernight Goddess’s domain are pure silver. That’s already burning money.
This is more impressive. It’s burning gold!
I must succeed in one try.
Such strange weather.
A Beyonder lost control?
Be careful. It was at least Sequence 8 prior to losing control.
We must deal with it on the ship.
We cannot allow it to make it into the Tussock River.
Take 3-0782 and leave first.
Kenley!
Go!
Don’t push! Run this way! This way!
Get people away now! And set the safety perimeter to over 50 meters.
Yes, sir!
Find a way to notify Havre. And don’t come close unless ordered to.
What is this? Some crazy giant swing?
Shit.
That worked?
Havre?
Mr. Havre?
He’s already completely lost control. There’s no turning back.
Let me do it.
Mr. Neil, your hand.
Old Neil always looks so chipper and cheerful.
But his home’s so dull and lifeless.
Old Neil’s wife?
Madam Celeste?
Mr. Havre.
Everything was fine. Why’d he suddenly lose control?
When we were drinking and when I saw him at the docks, nothing seemed unusual.
What could’ve caused this loss of control in such a short space of time?
If the cause can’t be traced at all,
then a Beyonder’s loss of control is even more frightening than I originally imagined.
Two Flaring Sun Charms.
With the empowerment of this deity blood,
be it the notebook’s temptation or the person behind it all, I can fight it.
But this lifesaving trump card...
can’t stop a Beyonder losing control.
The captain said most Nighthawks die from losing control.
So that means I, and everyone else, can’t escape that fate?
What am I afraid of?
I’m capable of exploiting gods.
There’s a solution to everything.
Is it possible that the more control someone has over themselves,
and the stronger their Beyonder powers are, the lower their chance is of losing control?
Maybe I can find a way to leak the acting method to the captain and the others.
It’s time to advance to Clown.

Klein.
Don’t shoot.
It’s me.
Miss Daly?
It’s rather boorish of me to visit you in this manner,
but I only just received Dunn’s letter.
This is an emergency,
and this little thing was the only way I could zoom back to Tingen to chat to you in secret.
Don’t you want to seal the room with spirituality?
A woman’s voice coming from your bedroom...
Of course, I personally don’t mind if your brother and sister get the wrong idea.
You’re Miss Daly, all right.
Dunn’s letter spoke of your advancement request.
He also expressed a little doubt,
but more than anything, he’s worried about you.
But I know something he doesn’t.
You’ve decided to use the acting method, haven’t you?
The "acting" method? What’s that?
Don’t play dumb. You don’t have to hide it from me.
To digest a potion in such a short period of time, you either used the acting method...
or you’re an evil heretic.
In which case, what awaits you is the judgment of the tribunal.
I reached this understanding thanks to the Lady’s blessings.
I’m glad we could be honest with each other on this.
It took me almost two years, but you’ve only been an Beyonder for two months.
How displeasing.
Madam. The higher ranks know about the acting method, I presume.
In The Revelation of Evernight,
the history of our Church only goes back to the Third Epoch.
A few thousand years later and the lowest-ranking Nighthawks don’t know about it.
Their reasons must have been very convincing to conceal things so deliberately.
I don’t know the reasons.
I only dare to broach the subject at all to others who have also grasped it, like yourself.
The higher ranks make those who stumble on this knowledge swear on a notary certificate.
That’s why I never got a chance to tell Dunn about it.
So Klein...
I want you to tell Dunn about the acting method before the Holy Cathedral’s people show up.
The Holy Cathedral?
Well, you grasped it within just two months, making you a weirdo-sorry, a genius.
The Holy Cathedral now holds you in exceptionally high regard. I’m not surprised.
A representative is on the overnight train to Tingen.
Klein, we don’t have much time.
Don’t worry, Miss Daly.
I’ll go tell the Captain and everyone else about it now.
What? You’ve digest-ahem, grasped the potion just like that?
You were about to say "digested," weren’t you? You’re rather knowledgeable.
Mr. Neil.
What’s the matter? Has something happened?
Mr. Neil, it’s unbelievable. Klein’s about to advance to Sequence 8.
Seq-
But how’s that possible? I-I-It’s only been two months.
Mr. Neil.
To advance, the potion’s name is the key.
Just as Miss Daly is a true Spirit Medium, I’ve attempted to be a true Seer,
and as such, I’ve reached a set of Seer principles.
They’re similar to the Mystery Pryer maxim.
"Do as you wish, but do no harm"?
Yes. That’s the core of it.
The potion’s namesake is exactly what we must become,
and it also encompasses the rules we must follow.
Finding inspiration in the Mystery Pryer maxim?
If only I’d met you 20 years earlier.
Mr. Neil.
Captain!
Captain!
The Goddess’s Sword, Reverend Crestet Cesimir?
Yes. He’s a high-ranking deacon of the Nighthawks,
and one of the three authoritative Red Gloves.
The Red Gloves? The legendary elite squad?
Yes. Reverend Cesimir received the acknowledgment of the Goddess’s Sword.
His strength is equal to a Sequence 4 demigod’s.
I’ve never heard of the reverend personally assessing a Sequence 8 Beyonder for advancement.
If this were an assessment, they wouldn’t be in the interrogation room.
You took inspiration from the Mystery Pryer maxim and from Daly’s example, yes?
Yes.
Why did you tell your teammates this information?
W-We’re comrades who face danger together.
I saw no reason to hide it from them.
Have you heard any murmurs from an evil god?
No.
Have you been tempted by the Devil?
Do you have any secrets you cannot share with anyone?
Klein.
Are you all right, Klein?
Don’t worry, everyone.
Your teammate has grasped the potion outstandingly.
His body, heart, and soul hide no dangers. He passed the assessment perfectly.
He can advance right away and become a Sequence 8 Beyonder.
So Klein wasn’t being punished for sharing the method for grasping potions?
That only proves that despite being a Beyonder for less than two months,
his bond with all of you is stronger than most.
And the restraints?
Ah, yes.
To stop him from taking his own life.
This is the first time I’ve seen an advancement in just two months.
So I added a little bit extra.
I thank you for the special treatment, Reverend.
All right. Back to business.
Come. Everyone, place a hand on this Holy Artifact, and recite after me to establish your oath.
I swear to you on my spirituality and in my real name...
I swear to you on my spirituality and in my real name...
I...
Klein
Seeka
Kenley
Royale
Frye
Leonard
Neil
Dunn
...will never reveal the details of the acting method from this day hence.
If I break this pledge, I accept any punishment you deem fit.
Please witness my oath.
Praise the Lady.
Good.
Now, it’s time to brew your Clown potion.
80 ml of pure water.
Five drops of Jimsonweed juice.
Seven grams of black-rimmed sunflower powder.
10 grams of golden cloak grass powder.
Three drops of poisonous hemlock.
One entire human-faced rose.
And the crystal horn of a mature Hornacis gray mountain goat.
You certainly are...
a professional Seer.
Hornacis... Flegrea...
I officially congratulate you, Klein Moretti.
You’ve successfully advanced to Sequence 8 Clown.
You must remember what I am about to tell you.
Be they murmurs or cries, they could be sent to you by a high-Sequence Beyonder of the same pathway,
its content filled with malice.
If this pathway belongs to some evil existence, you must be extra careful.
Once you become tainted, it’s extremely easy to lose control.
A high-Sequence Beyonder in the Seer pathway?
The advancement’s effects are obvious. My body’s lighter, and I have better agility and strength.
Klein. You’ve successfully advanced?
How does it feel?
Still getting used to it.
He’ll fix his tie...
with his left hand.
I even have powers of precognition?
The Clown potion grants stronger Beyonder powers than I thought.
Are there other powers?
Uh, did anything change?
It seems skills like Air Bullets are locked behind Sequence 7 and above.
Is this another new skill I can’t see?
That much force with just a piece of paper? That’s amazing.
I should carry a deck of tarot cards.
With practice, I could use my Little Zhou Flying Dagger. I’d never miss the mark.
Klein advanced to Sequence 8 in two months.
If I work really hard, I should get there in a year or two.
Advancement, huh? Youth is a wonderful thing.
Mr. Neil, are you all right?
He’s showing signs of illness, but everything looks normal.
Just now, was that...
Initially, I also looked for inspiration in the Mystery Pryer maxim.
But alas, I never found the right path.
Mr. Neil.
But that’s life. It has its regrets.
Today, young Klein has brought us good fortune.
We should celebrate his advancement together.
Yes, we should go for a drink together.
Let’s do it tonight. We can go to the restaurant near my house. My treat!
Huh?
Let me think, what do you all like to eat?
Honey-glazed barbecue, Fermo coffee from the Paz River Valley,
fried Tussock fish, clear oyster soup, pan-fried foie gras.
What do you want to drink?
Sweet iced tea.
What’s that?
A new item at Smyrin Bakery.
You’re an adult and still like sweet stuff? You have the palate of a child.
At times like this, you should be drinking beer.
All right, it’s settled. I’ll go book us a table.
Is that still the same Old Neil?
After work, we’ll all gather for dinner.
All right.
Oh, wait.
Whose turn is it to guard the Chanis Gate?
Seeka.
Looks like she’ll be missing out, then.
Wow. I’ve known Old Neil for a long time, but I had no idea he could play the piano so well.
There’s a slight lonely quality to the sound.
Captain, I think we should have more gatherings in the future.
Yes. We can spend more time with him.
The door’s open?
Mr. Neil, it’s me, Klein.
Klein?
What are you doing here?
We’re here to pick you up, Mr. Neil. To go to the restaurant.
Oh.
I’m, um...
I’m not ready yet.
You don’t need to dress up, Mr. Neil. Come on out.
No!
Not today!
I’m sorry.
Mr. Neil.
Go. Quickly.
What’s... What’s the matter?
Old Neil, what’s wrong?
You want to give us a surprise?
No, it’s not a surprise.
I’m just, um, not feeling well.
Let’s dine together tomorrow.
Yes, tomorrow.
You don’t feel well? Have you fallen ill?
Good timing, then. We’ll come in and check on you.
Once we know you’re fine, we’ll leave immediately.
Liar.
You’re lying!
Old Neil.
Are you refusing to believe even me?
Just a quick peek.
I hope we can still make it, Old Neil.
All right. It’s as you can see.
I... I made a bit of a mess.
Tomorrow. I’ll be fine tomorrow.
Please leave now.
Come out first, Old Neil.
Let us see. Maybe we can help you.
Dunn. You promised. One quick peek and you leave.
That’s right. Just let us take one quick peek. As long as-
Dunn!
"Do as you wish, but do no harm."
I’ve always stuck to those words.
Rather than doing something that might harm others, I’ve endured.
I just have one small request right now.
Tomorrow! Wait until tomorrow!
I know how you all call me stingy.
But I’ve never harmed a single person this whole time.
At most... At most, I’ve expensed things I shouldn’t have.
I swear.
I swear it to the Lady!
Dunn, Klein, please leave.
Tomorrow, everything will be back to normal.
Old Neil.
You misunderstand.
We’ve known each other for 15 years.
I know you don’t have any major problems. You’re just sick.
I’m worried about you.
I need to see you with my own eyes before I can stop worrying.
You’re not here to arrest me?
No, I’m not. I swear it to the Lady.
Then... All right.
Look. I’m really fine. See?
Old Neil.
What have you been attempting all this time?
So you’ve figured it out?
Well, it’s not like I can’t tell you.
I’m trying to resurrect...
Celeste.
I’ve already found the method.
I’m on the right path.
I wasn’t able to save her 20 years ago.
But now, I have enough knowledge and experience.
I can finish everything.
It’s such a pity...
that I couldn’t take inspiration from the Mystery Pryer maxim and from Daly’s example.
I missed my best opportunity.
But I can’t let it slip this time!
Dunn, just leave.
How do you intend to resurrect Celeste?
Resurrection...
Alchemical Life. I will prepare a body that never ages.
Then, I will summon her soul from the Spirit World, and guide it into her new body.
Isn’t that a great idea?
Indeed it is. An excellent idea, Old Neil.
Of course it is.
It’s a gift from God!
He kept whispering its description into my ears.
Kept whispering...
He is...
He is...
the Hidden Sage!
You want to pull me into a dream?
It’s no use, Dunn.
My eyes can see through everything.
Let me leave.
I won’t hurt anyone.
I mean it. Let me leave.
I’m begging you.
I’m begging all of you.
Mr. Neil.
This is...
So I’ve already become a monster?
Let me... Let me leave...
I won’t hurt anyone. Truly.
I just want to try out my ritual quietly.
Dunn, do you remember the time I saved you?
Royale, do you remember how I helped you save your family?
Klein.
Do you remember how I taught you every day?
I’ll go deep into the mountains.
I’ll never... I’ll never show myself again.
I’m begging you.
Dunn, trust me.
I’ll leave tonight.
There won’t be any trouble.
Please just let me go.
I’m begging you.
Why? Why did this happen?
"Materials required for Alchemical Life:"
"100 ml of spring water from the Spring of Elves."
"50 grams of Star Crystal."
"Half a pound of pure gold."
"Five grams of phlogiston."
"30 grams of red iron."
"And a large quantity of fresh blood from living people."
"Can consider drawing my own."
"Do as I wish, but do no harm."
"The full-faced crimson moon shone over the land."
"An exhausted spirit body stops wandering, and rests peacefully in the nation of the Goddess."
"The land takes away the husk, and the soul has long become the stars in eternity."
"May the Goddess draw out from the angel chorus with the silence sweet to gather.
"Our dear friend and comrade who fought alongside us."
"May the stars shine bright in the everlasting night."
"May you return to your original purity."
"The only resting place is tranquility."
We are guardians,
but also a bunch of miserable wretches constantly battling danger and madness.
If I cannot save her,
then I shall accompany her.

EPISODE TEN: CLUE IT’S NOT JUST MONEY THAT’S BEING CHEATED
Oh, Klein, you’re here.
Mr. Neil, isn’t this a little too much in terms of expenses this time?
Of course not. It’s only about 6 receipts. Go quickly now.
What? The dirt from beneath your shoe? Go get rid of it quickly.
Hm, maybe we should call it...
The Fantastic Organisms Protection Association.
Klein, there’s a letter for you.
"Klein, by the time you get this letter, I’ll already be on the train to Backlund."
"The mausoleum you mentioned last time seems familiar to me,
but unfortunately, I was unable to recall any more."
"So I intend to visit some other places. Perhaps it’ll help me recover more memories."
"At the same time, the one behind everything hasn’t made a move."
"My departure from Tingen may cause him to let his guard down."
Mr. Azik is also gone. What do I do from now?
If this mastermind makes a move, if it’s just me...
What’s this?
What are you up to?
Captain, what’s this wanted poster?
Did I not warn you?
That was an oversight on my part. That is an Archbishop.
He lost control three years ago.
He fled with Sealed Artifact 0-08
INCE ZANGWILL - and hasn’t been seen since.
The Holy Cathedral’s orders are to report back immediately if he’s discovered. If you don’t...
You will 1,000% be killed in the line of duty.
And Sealed Artifact 0-08 is?
A Grade 0 Sealed Artifact. The highest grade in terms of danger and security classification.
Items in that grade must not be asked about, talked about, described, or probed.
Regarding 0-08, all that is known about it is it looks like an ordinary quill.
One that requires no ink.
A quill?
When a Beyonder dies after losing control,
they leave behind items filled with Beyonder power.
If these cannot be controlled, then they must be sealed.
That is one of the sources of Sealed Artifacts.
And if it can be controlled?
You don’t want to know the answer to that.
The Nighthawks, the Mandated Punishers, and the Machinery Hivemind
all face the risk of losing control or dying in the line of duty.
Klein, you must get used to this and pull yourself together.
Yes, I understand, Captain.
The captain’s right. I need to get it together.
I still need to investigate who’s behind all of this, as well as return home.
Klein.
I bought this on the way here. Sweet iced tea.
You like this stuff, right?
Thank you, Captain.
The item you requested previously has also been approved.
Tarot cards. 22 in total.
Faces inlaid with threads of pure silver and other metals.
They’ll have suppressive effects against spirits.
What made you think of using tarot cards as a weapon?
They’re far more concealable than a gun, and they don’t resemble a weapon.
At the critical moment, they can be used for a fatal counterattack.
The power is there, but the accuracy is lacking.
No need to rush things. From now on, I will teach you strength and combat techniques.
Anything else you don’t understand, you can come ask me directly.
You’re already Sequence 8. You should gain more knowledge on the spirit world.
I’ve found a teacher for you who will visit you tonight at around 10 o’clock.
A Sequence 6 Spirit Guide.
Don’t turn in early.
Welcome home, Klein. Have you had dinner yet?
Yes, I’ve already eaten, Melissa.
What’s the matter?
You seem to be in better spirits.
I’m sorry I made you all worry.
Oh, right. Here.
I recently became a full-fledged police officer, so...
What? Another raise?
Knowledge certainly equals wealth.
Basic accounting theory?
Benson, you...
I don’t want my weekly pay to still be under two pounds in five years’ time.
But this is sleep-inducing.
Learning basic math logic and relevant legal stuff will help with studying accounting.
- Really? - Yup.
All right. I’ll work hard.
Studying is what sets humans apart from curly-haired baboons.
"This brass whistle was something I had on my person when I awoke."
"It can summon my messenger."
"Find somewhere relatively safe and give it a mighty blow."
"The little one will appear in moments."
Messenger?
No sound. Is it broken?
What the... What’s happening?
It’s this thing?
Mr. Azik, you call this a "little one"?
Huh?
Miss Daly?
Aw, I thought I would scare you.
That messenger showed up and immediately ulted,
so by comparison, your entrance was an auto-attack.
I should’ve known you’d be my "Spirit Guide" teacher.
Miss Daly, congratulations on advancing to Sequence 6.
I still prefer the title of "Spirit Medium."
Today, I’ll teach you two Beyonder skills:
summoning a messenger, and a different spirit communication skill
that uses ritualistic magic to enter another person’s mind world
so you can search deep within their subconscious.
Normally, because people have their own preexisting will,
they resist unprotected communications from spirit to spirit.
This is rather troublesome, and also comes with a considerable amount of danger.
In the mind world, all of...
Madam, don’t you think today’s lesson might not be a little too much all at once?
C-Captain?
A-Are you here to see Miss Daly?
Ignore him. He’s scaring people in dreams again.
My apologies, Daly. I’m interrupting your lesson.
Don’t forget your promise to wine and dine me.
Right.
Klein, arm yourself. There’s an urgent mission.
LANGUAGES: ANCIENT HERMES: COMES FROM NATURE AND IS SIMILAR TO JOTUN, DRAGONESE, AND ELVISH
TINGEN, GREENHILL MENTAL ASYLUM
Hood Eugen was disguised as a regular Tingen resident this whole time.
He suddenly went mad recently,
accidentally exposing his Beyonder powers.
He’s a suspected Sequence 7 Psychiatrist.
His dreams are already a chaotic mess. I can’t interrogate him with Nightmare.
Try your spirit communication.
Psychiatrist is on the Spectator pathway. Their psychological defenses are strong.
Be careful.
Asleep?
No, I’m waiting for you.
You knew I was coming?
Where’s the cake you promised me?
I promised you no such thing.
L... L said if I don’t sleep at night, he’ll give me cake.
No... No cake?
You... You stole my cake!
Don’t be so upset.
NIGHTMARE.
The captain’s Nightmare powers have grown.
Seems his digestion has been smooth lately.
Begin, Klein.
I PRAY FOR THE POWER OF THE DARK NIGHT.
I PRAY FOR THE POWER OF THE MYSTERY.
I PRAY FOR THE GODDESS’S LOVING GRACE.
I pray to you to allow me to communicate spiritually with Hood Eugen.
So light.
Yet so heavy.
What is that sound?
Is this the spirit world Miss Daly was talking about?
It overlaps with the real world. Past, present, and future all converge here.
Countless fragments of info flow through here.
This is the entrance to Hood Eugen’s mind world?
Tell me, who are you?
Which order do you belong to?
Hood Eugen... The Psychological Alchemists...
Psychological Alchemists?
Why have the Psychological Alchemists come to Tingen?
No response?
Have I asked the wrong question?
Or does Eugen not know?
Then, who is L?
L...
Lanevus.
Lanevus? Even in madness, Eugen’s mind is on Lanevus’s cake.
Their relationship can’t be a simple one.
That thieving, philandering fraud could be a Beyonder, too.
Fraud? The one listed in the files, perhaps? The Marauder pathway, Sequence 8 Swindler?
Why did Lanevus come for you?
He said you should be able to tell who exists behind me.
And in a sense, the Psychological Alchemists, have some relation to Him.
With just a little bit of help,
not only will you grasp the power of your potion and the way to avoid losing control,
but you will also be granted the godhood that all Beyonders dream of attaining:
Immortal godhood!
Hood Eugen! If you seize this opportunity,
we can become rulers of this world!
What’s going on? Is this a style of speech unique to Swindlers?
What kind of help did Lanevus want you to provide?
Help...
Help. I provided help!
I provided help!
I provided help! I made...
Holy...
The sea in Eugen’s mind world has already collapsed. I’d better get out of here.
No...
What happened? You almost got trapped inside his mind world.
Captain, I saw a creepy altar, and a shadow that resembled the True Creator.
No wonder Eugen instantly lost control. A creepy altar, huh?
If it’s related to the True Creator, it’s likely also related to the Aurora Order.
And the Psychological Alchemists might be hidden behind it all, allowing things to happen.
The Aurora Order?
Captain, do you still remember that letter addressed to Mr. Z?
The one Sirius of the Aurora Order had.
He wrote in his letter that when the time is right, Doomsday will arrive,
and he will present all of Tingen’s sacrificial sheep to his so-called "Master."
I believe this is closely connected to whatever Lanevus is planning.
The situation is quite severe.
We must investigate Lanevus anew.
SOUTH BOROUGH STEEL MILL
Mrs. Maynard howled with rage, "You shameless witch!"
You shameless witch!
She’s a murderer! Why aren’t you arresting her?
Madam Sharon, a Tingen socialite and Baron Khoy’s widow.
Each man is in the Conservative Party or the New Party.
They all share quite a close relationship with Madam Sharon.
By her side is the current Baron Khoy, Madam Sharon’s stepson.
Stepson?
I want to file charges against her! I’ll sue you officers for dereliction of duty!
A whore like her should be punished using the pear of anguish!
Madam, such vulgar language is unbecoming of your status.
Madam Sharon was sent to see Mr. Maynard last night by me.
Do you have an issue with me?
That’s Tingen’s most renowned socialite for you.
Let’s look upstairs.
John Maynard. Member of the New Party. Tingen member of parliament. Mayoral candidate.
The preliminary report has his time of death as between 9 and 11 last night.
The body hasn’t been moved. It was discovered by a servant this morning.
Madam Sharon was the last person he saw while alive.
We’ve ruled out Beyonder influence, as well as homicide.
We believe his death was due to an illness.
What did you discover?
The same as Frye.
But I believe this death is not so simple.
It has to be connected to Beyonders.
While investigating the leads on the Lanevus case,
I discovered the steel mill Lanevus leases does under-the-table dealings.
The actual person in charge of it is an esteemed member of parliament.
Mayoral candidate, John Maynard?
He was to be the main focus of my investigations today.
Him dying is too coincidental.
Investigate Madam Sharon’s network of connections and see if she has any to Lanevus.
Was Beyonder influence involved in John Maynard’s death?
Yes.
So our investigations are being interfered with.
Is Madam Sharon a Beyonder?
Does Madam Sharon have ties to Lanevus?
I can’t use divination?
Is she using a fake name?
Or is she just a very strong Beyonder?
I have too few concrete facts, and I can’t confirm anything else.
How many times have I been interfered with now? Too often to be coincidental.
Is it possible that Madam Sharon is connected to the mastermind behind everything?
CITY OF SILVER
O MAGNIFICENT DEITY,
I AM WILLING TO DEDICATE MY LIFE TO YOU.
Is this a new prayer?
Mr. Fool.
I have good news to share.
The Higher Exam you mentioned that helps select skilled individuals,
has been approved by the King and prime minister.
We expect formal implementation to begin early next year.
So soon? It seems Miss Justice’s family has a lot of political power.
Yes, very good.
Honorable Mr. Fool, there is one thing I would like to seek advice for.
The Aurora Order has been searching for the holy residence of the True Creator.
Could that be the Forsaken Land of the Gods spoken of in legend?
The Forsaken Land of the Gods is related to the True Creator?
SEPTEMBER 23: I WENT WITH THE SHIP SEARCHING FOR THE FORSAKEN LAND OF THE GODS
Why was Emperor Roselle seeking the Forsaken Land of the Gods?
That is not something you should know at present.
Please forgive my minor transgression.
You two may continue.
Miss Justice, I would like to seek your help with something.
What is it?
To find an individual’s whereabouts in Backlund.
It carries rather a great risk, but I will pay an appropriate reward.
Who are you searching for?
One of the Seven Pirate Admirals:
Vice Admiral Hurricane, Qilangos.
The Seven Pirate Admirals?
Speaking of which, he’s also in Backlund.
Could Mr. Fool be displaying his divine miracles?
O MAGNIFICENT DEITY, I AM WILLING TO USE MY BLOOD TO PLEASE YOU.
What language is this?
The root language of Loenese, Ancient Feysac? It doesn’t seem like it.
PLEASE ALLOW US, THE PEOPLE OF THE DARK...
It sounds like... Jotun?
O MAGNIFICENT DEITY, PLEASE CAST YOUR EYES...
It really is Jotun.
Thankfully, I studied it a little. Where do they even use Jotun these days?
It’s an ancient tongue that’s already thousands of years old.
O MAGNIFICENT DEITY... THIS LAND YOU HAVE FORSAKEN...
The Forsaken Land of the Gods?
DERRICK BERG
You...
You are a deity?
I am not a deity.
I am merely a history-loving...
Fool.
"Fool"?
Justice.
The Hanged Man.
Choose a card to be your alias.
I choose...
...the Sun!

Within the crimson, Dunn Smith is atop Kenley White’s corpse.
Captain?
He’s drinking Kenley’s blood?
What’s going on?
Are these early symptoms of losing control?
There’s no way. The captain’s been acting as a Nightmare all this time.
Klein.
What’s the matter?
Nothing. I’m just a bit tired.
Don’t let sadness overwhelm your heart and mind.
You must get used to these things.
Commune with Sharon Khoy’s spirit body while it is still intact.
I understand, Captain.
The captain looks normal. Was that an illusion just now?
No, it wasn’t an illusion.
There is something missing from Kenley’s body.
EPISODE TWELVE: BOMB - TOMORROW AND ACCIDENTS, ONE WILL ALWAYS COME FIRST
Why... Why did this happen again?
Kenley only got engaged last month.
Why do we become Beyonders?
Why are we constantly faced with danger?
May the Goddess bless you. May you find true peace.
What did the captain do?
He ordered me to clean up the scene. Was that to get me out of the way?
Kenley was sacrificed as a result of 3-0217’s usage backfiring.
3-0217 was given to Kenley by the captain.
What am I even thinking?
It was the obvious thing to do.
But 3-0217...
was brought out at the captain’s suggestion.
When Klein communicated with Sharon Khoy’s spirit,
we found a link between the Demoness Sect and the Aurora Order.
This is related to Lanevus and Tingen’s doomsday.
Follow up on it and continue your investigations.
Understood.
Captain, Sharon Khoy is dead. Is Tingen’s crisis resolved for now?
Sharon Khoy might have been a crucial link to doomsday,
but evil orders tend to have contingency plans.

HOWES STREET
62 HOWES STREET
RETURN OF THE EARL WE AWAIT YOUR VISIT!
Ah, welcome home, Klein.
Yeah.
Have you been busy lately? There’s breakfast in the kitchen. Would you like some?
Sure. Once I’ve finished my work.
I’ve already mailed the letter.
I hope Mr. Azik and Miss Daly reply as soon as possible.
I’m not sure what happened.
I also don’t know what the situation is with the captain.
Only you two can give me answers now.
THE REASON FOR DUNN SMITH’S ERRATIC BEHAVIOR
The reason for Dunn Smith’s erratic behavior.
No reaction.
So not enough info. The divination failed.
Normally, divination related to one’s own safety requires the least amount of info.
Maybe if I try the angle of divining for my own safety...
Dunn Smith’s erratic behavior will put me in danger.
It’s reacting.
The captain’s erratic behavior will put me in danger. And significant danger, too.
Mr. Azik replied to my letter?
"The scene you describe reminds me of Vampires and Mutants.
"Natural vampires were already almost extinct before dragons and giants exited the stage."
"But I recall there’s a certain pathway with a Sequence whose potion is named Vampire."
"As for Mutants, some speculate they are regular humans who have been contaminated or cursed."
"Under certain circumstances, they become monsters."
"Your superior may be a latent Mutant."
"Of course, this is all just speculation."
"But whatever he is, it’s proof your superior is in a very unstable and dangerous state."
"You must be careful."
Klein.
Captain?
Klein.
Go to 62 Howes Street.
Leonard has found Lanevus’s residence. He needs your help.
Yo. You’re here.
Didn’t sleep well?
How did you find this place?
The leads you got from Hood Eugen made us think Lanevus had links to Sirius.
Sirius had contact with a number of Howes Street residents. I checked out each one.
An older gent saw Lanevus’s photo and said the guy at No. 62 looked very similar,
but he hasn’t been here in a while.
I suspect there’s a hidden room in here.
Hidden compartments or hidden rooms in this building.
Another letter?
"Congratulations. You’ve finally found this letter."
"This proves you’re not too stupid."
"You’re qualified to participate in this game of life and death I’ve designed."
"Madness will have an ultimate price to pay."
"Blasphemy will not be forgiven."
"Poverty. Illness. Child laborers dying over and over."
"So few workers make it past the age of 30."
Every factory in this city is engulfed in endless resentment."
"This is the setting our game will take place in."
"So prepare yourselves, fools."
"I’ve planted a bomb in the heart of Tingen."
"A bomb that will grow stronger over time."
A bomb?
"Go and find it, friends."
The clock is ticking. We need to report this to the captain.
"If you lose this game, ka-boom."
"The entire city of Tingen will get blown to smithereens."
"Yours sincerely, the one who loves to surprise his friends: Lanevus."
I’ve never heard of a bomb that can grow stronger.
It’s a mysticism kind of "bomb." Like an evil ritual that continuously accumulates power.
I agree with your assessment.
The resentment Lanevus described is perhaps what makes the bomb grow stronger.
The question is: Where is the bomb?
Did something happen?
Where’s the captain?
A bomb? Could it be on the altar in Hood Eugen’s mind world?
But where’s that altar?
Underground, at the heart of Tingen?
Good day.
Miss Megose?
Lanevus’s fiancée?
Her mental state seemed off previously.
She said her child whistles in her womb.
Miss Megose, what brings you here today?
I don’t know why, but I suddenly felt like coming to Zouteland Street,
then suddenly felt like coming here to take a look.
Her mental state seems to have worsened.
I didn’t get a chance to use Spirit Vision last time.
Don’t look. Don’t look. Don’t look.
You’ll die if you look.
The bomb Lanevus set up isn’t at the altar.
It’s the evil being inside Megose.
"I started the Industrial Revolution with my own two hands,
and personally ushered in the Age of Steam and Machinery."
"But this will only become a hotbed for the descent of an evil god?"
The whistle’s being suppressed.
The Flaring Sun Charm hasn’t been affected.
Miss Megose, do you have a request for us?
I’d like to chat about Lanevus.
He said you know a lot.
Who is he?
My child.
Would you like coffee or black tea?
A cup of warm water.
One moment, miss.
Keep her stable.
Klein?
CORRUPTION SCANDAL-IMPLICATED MAYOR DENNIS RESIGNS OUT OF GUILT
I heard you and Mr. Lanevus first met at a ball.
Huh?
Yes. The first time I met him was at the City Council Ball.
He was something else. Handsome. Rich.
A young entrepreneur who attracted the most attention from girls that night.
There were so many beautiful girls looking to dance with him.
But for some reason, he only invited me to dance.
From waltzes to courantes, he danced with me the entire evening.
His every word made me happy.
His every look captivated me.
That’s when I knew I’d never be able to leave his side again in this life.
Then, they told me he was a fraud. That he’d deceived me.
But that’s not true. He was very good to me.
He often took me to gatherings with his friends.
He even took me to so many wonderful places.
That day...
That day...
He gave me a necklace.
And he said he would give me a surprise.
The characteristics of a descendant of Death...
allow the body of a mortal to become a vessel to welcome a being’s descent.
Boundless resentment and darkness are the milk and honey that nourishes the saint spirit.
You’re saying it isn’t Lanevus’s child in her womb?
That’s right. I tried to use Spirit Vision, but my spirituality warned me:
"Do not gaze directly at gods."
I thought of the altar in Eugen’s mind world,
and the little bit of godhood Lanevus promised Eugen.
I suspect what’s inside Megose’s womb is...
The body for the True Creator?
Yes. That’s why Mr. Havre, who was tailing Megose, suddenly lost control.
Perhaps Old Neil was also influenced.
And just as we found Lanevus’s letter, Megose showed up at our door.
Beyonder coincidences?
Too obvious. Too direct. They’re not even trying to hide it anymore.
It seems the mastermind is about to personally join the field of play.
But after that, he disappeared.
I searched high and low for a long time, but I couldn’t find him.
Don’t worry too much, Miss Megose.
Focus on your child.
Child! Child!
Her psyche can’t handle this for much longer.
Where are Frye and Royale?
Not back yet.
Alert all noncombat members to leave. Have the police evacuate everyone.
We’ve found some new leads on Mr. Lanevus’s whereabouts.
Captain’s orders. Emergency situation.
All noncombat members out. It’s very dangerous here.
Go.
A body for the True Creator? At the very least, that’s a Sequence 4 Mythical Creature.
We need backup from the Holy Cathedral,
and the aid of the Mandated Punishers and Machinery Hivemind.
A Sequence 4 Mythical Creature?
Do we have any chance of winning if it’s just us?
Mr. Azik.
If Mr. Azik were still in Tingen...
The suppression of the whistle has weakened?
I need to alert Mr. Azik right away.
"Mr. Azik, the one who made my fate erratic
and took your child’s remains might finally be showing themselves."
"This involves the True Creator. The situation is very dire."
If the evil being descends before reinforcements from the Holy Cathedral arrive...
Take two strong offensive Sealed Artifacts.
I request the usage of 3-0782. The Mutated Sun Sacred Emblem.
We lent it to Backlund yesterday.
Coincidence?
Tingen currently only has three Grade 2 Sealed Artifacts.
Of those, two have unknown effects on high-Sequence Beyonders.
2-105 Blood Vessel Thief has proven effective against high-Sequence Beyonders.
It can steal one ability from a target within a designated range,
but it has a low chance of success.
I’ll take the Blood Vessel Thief.
Everyone who comes into contact with 2-105 has their life stolen away.
Remember: the limit for Sequence 8 is half an hour.
I will give Leonard all the warnings.
All right, dear Poet. It’s time you showed us your secret.
Then, which will you use?
I have other plans.
Saint Selena... Saint Selena...
I request the usage of a core seal:
Saint Selena’s ashes.
That requires Holy Cathedral authorization.
As captain of the Tingen Nighthawks,
I invoke the emergency clause that allows me to request the usage of Saint Selena’s ashes.
SAINT SELENA’S ASHES THE ASHES OF A HIGH-SEQUENCE BEYONDER
With the core seal gone, the Chanis Gate is in your hands.
May the Goddess bless you both.
Telegram from the Holy Cathedral.
Stall as long as possible. Reinforcements are on the way.
And the coincidences?
No reply.
What we need right now is time.
I hope the vessel within Megose’s womb can wait a little.
He has another residence on Howes Street? He never told me that.
Don’t be foolish.
Go. Leave.
You.
What are you hiding?
Mr. Lanevus ran into some difficulties, and that’s why he had to leave Tingen.
Once he’s dealt with them, he’ll be back for you and your child.
Really?
Yes. That has to be it.
He really likes this child.
He’ll definitely come back for the child.
Mr. Moretti also said that as long as we have the child,
we would be able to find Lanevus.
Klein Moretti?
Yes, the excellent Mr. Seer.
I think someone told me if I came here, you’d help me birth my child even quicker.
Who? Who told you that?
There was a voice, um...
There was a voice that said, "Zouteland Street. Go see a friend."
The evil being’s vessel is still stable for now.
I’ll go first. You stand guard here.
Captain.
I almost forgot.
I have Daly’s letter to you.
She told me to explain it myself.
In mysticism, there’s a law: The characteristics of a Beyonder are never destroyed or reduced.
Merely passed from one carrier to the next.
When Daly and I discovered this,
the Holy Cathedral had us keep it a secret. We were given two choices.
One was to hand over all of the characteristics to the Holy Cathedral.
The other was to consume the characteristics of those within the same pathway.
I don’t know their true wishes.
At the same time, it greatly affects my potion digestion.
KENLEY WHITE
But I still made the decision...
to be with them forever.
Captain.
My child!
Run, lad.
Calm down, Miss Megose!
Think of your child!
His birth should be blessed by both of his parents.
Lanevus will be back in a few days. Just wait a few more days!
A few more days?
Didn’t they say the child’s father would be back by the time the child is born?
The final act begins.
Go. This evil being can’t stand the stimulus from the saint’s ashes. He’s about to descend.
The saint’s ashes?

This is the world of Beyonders.
By drinking potions, humans are able to attain various Beyonder powers,
and ascend to divinity.
The world is a falsehood.
Chaos is constant and eternal.
The Supreme Being bestows blessings
through depravity,
filth,
and darkness.
Faint struggles end in futility,
never to awaken.
Carrying the sin of blasphemy,
the shepherd crawls with devotion.
I shall offer you all of the sacrificial lambs,
in order to welcome...
your divine descent!
It hurts.
Where am I?
A nightmare?
A gun!
It hurts!
It’s not a brain hemorrhage, is it?
Or sudden death from fatigue?
Klein.
Who’s there?!
Who is Klein?
This isn’t me.
"Klein"?
I’ve...
transmigrated?
Situation report.
Yes, Captain.
Two deceased.
Welch and Naya,
history graduates from Khoy University.
Judging from the scene, it was suicide,
but Forbidden Divination was likely performed here,
or perhaps a Beyonder was sacrificed.
As a result, some kind of unknown entity has descended here.
This individual is...?
Klein Moretti.
A classmate of the deceased.
Both his parents are deceased,
and he currently lives with his siblings.
Klein Moretti. A citizen of Tingen City of Awwa County
in the Loen Kingdom of the Northern Continent.
A fresh history graduate.
Proficient in ancient Feysac and Hermes.
"May 29th, Welch came to see me.
He claimed to have come across an ancient notebook.
June 20th, we deciphered the first page.
My Goddess! This is a notebook from the Fourth Epoch!
The writer came from..."
The Antigonus Family.
June 21st, 22nd, 25th.
Antigonus.
The Black Emperor.
The Tudor Empire.
The summit of the Hornacis Mountain Range.
"June 26th, are all these strange things real?"
It’s now the 28th. Why is there no entry from the 27th?
Hermes language?
"Everyone will die,
including me."
Why would Klein write that?
What did he encounter?
Klein?
You stayed up all night reading again?
What are you doing?
I just woke up. I’m cleaning up a bit.
You’re acting secretive.
What was that?
This... seems to be...
broken again.
What’s with that look of disparagement and resignation?
Doesn’t pulling the button up adjust the time?
It’s okay now.
What is that expression?
The look of a sister caring for her idiot brother?
The wound’s almost healed up.
A healing effect from transmigrating?
He also invented tarot divination and the steam engine,
improved sailing boats and promoted Spring Festival traditions.
If we followed novel logic,
then could Emperor Roselle Gustav...
have been a transmigrator?
Maybe even a fellow countryman?
A circus performance?
Sir, tonight at seven o’clock!
We await your presence.
Praise the Lady.
Lost sheep,
Also free?
Th-That’s... also free.
They say anything free costs the most.
What would you like to read?
Past,
present,
and future.
Please shuffle the cards
and focus your mind on that which you seek.
I’ve already done so.
Please start.
This represents your past.
This, your present.
And this, your future.
All right, Mr. Free.
Which card do you want to see first?
The present.
The Fool.
The Fool?
The "0" card of the tarot?
A fresh beginning with all kinds of possibilities?
Hey!
Why are you impersonating me again?!
You’re just an animal trainer, and don’t you forget it!
Well, then.
Is an animal trainer who doesn’t want to be a fortune-teller just a bad clown?
Go check on your baboons. Don’t let me catch you again!
But, my divination and interpretations have been quite accurate...
Just now,
You wouldn’t die if you didn’t court death.
What... is this place?
Mirror, mirror...
In the name of the Hall family,
I command you... to awaken!
Sir...
If I may ask... Where is this?
Did I...
summon these two?
If I may ask...
Might you be the master of this Divine Realm?
"Divine Realm"?
A place without so much as a shrine, and you call it a Divine Realm?
So laws take effect as soon as they’re spoken, and then materialize?
Then maybe this gray fog...
is like a game code I can hack!
Indeed.
Sir.
If I may ask...
What is this place?
And who are you?
Me?
Am I Zhou Mingrui?
Or am I Klein?
You may address me as...
The Fool?
Mr. Fool,
what is it that you are doing?
An attempt.
An attempt?
Mr. Fool, is the attempt over?
One is named "Sailor," and the other is "Spectator."
You’ll have acute powers of observation,
and will be able to judge "actors" in the secular world.
It seems they’re referring to various kinds of superhuman powers.
"Sequence 9" sounds like a power level.
This gray fog and my transmigration...
I think I have fallen in love with this feeling of being a "Spectator"...
I know! I shall be...
Justice!
The Hanged Man.
Then that makes us the founding members of the Tarot Club!
I’m losing strength...
I heard that initially,
Emperor Roselle made a different deck of tarot cards.
Yes.
It is said that Emperor Roselle had seen the Blasphemy Slate
which contains the profound mysteries of the 22 Paths of the Divine.
Enough.
Today’s gathering ends here.
By your will.
By your will.
Who is it?
The police.
Coming.
An inspector?
Apologies. I was just having a nap.
We meet again.
You’re the guy... who was following me in the town square.
"Following" you?
An interesting choice of words.
Why can’t I have been "protecting" you?
Leonard Mitchell, Awwa County Police.
You’re entering without-
Relax, Mr. Moretti.
We just want to ask you a few questions.
Inspectors...
Did Naya and Welch really...
take their own lives?
Judging from the scene, yes.
You call that suicide?
They looked possessed!
What "strange things"?
You...!
It’s a Beyonder?
To the pier outside the city.
You got it.
No one is coming after me and there are no abnormalities.
Please pull over.
Where are you going?
To Welch’s residence.
It was a dream?
When did I fall asleep?
Allow me to reintroduce myself.
Nighthawk,
Dunn Smith.
Was he the one manipulating my dream?
Is he a Beyonder?
Mr. Moretti.
In the dark of the night,
we are far more powerful than you can imagine.
"We"?
No need to be nervous.
I’ll make you all slick and pliable
so that you can open right up.
Don’t...
Don’t worry.
This is her idea of calming you down.
She...
prefers corpses over men...
Mom! Dad!
You... need to be careful.
The Antigonus Family’s notebook is missing.
The threat to your life still remains.
Then I-
We’re not your babysitters.
We can’t always protect you.

Punk!
We’re not usually this busy.
But over the last two days, there’s been a spike in Beyonder cases.
Very true!
We honor their memory and follow them.
Do you know of the creation myth?
Yes.
The Creator awoke from Chaos, bringing forth the first ray of light.
He became the universe and existence itself.
His eyes became the sun and the crimson moon.
His body became the land and stars.
His hair turned into the phoenixes.
His ears turned into the demonic wolves.
It’s all the same origin.
Humans use Beyonder ingredients to make potions that grant powers from different Pathways.
Pathways?
The Hanged Man from yesterday mentioned something about the 22 Paths of the Divine.
The Church of the Evernight Goddess has Sequence 9 potions for 4 Pathways.
We possess the complete Sleepless pathway.
Corpse Collector is particularly strong in self-defense.
Mystery Pryer and Seer excel in mysticism, but they’re weak when it comes to countering.
That said...
For the Seer pathway, we only have Sequence 9.
You don’t have to decide right away. Go see the old man in the alchemy room first.
He can guide you toward the best decision.
Yes, Captain.
We are guardians,
but also a bunch of miserable wretches, constantly fighting against threats and madness.
It seems no matter which potion I choose, returning home requires knowledge of mysticism.
I can rule out Sleepless and Corpse Collector.
As for Mystery Pryer and Seer, which one is better?
Damn... this is harder than choosing a major in college.
Nobody’s here?
Oh my Goddess! What is the matter with this thing?
Hello. My name is Klein.
Oh, I’ve heard of you, lad. Dunn told me you’d be coming.
A history graduate from Khoy University, hmm?
You can call me Old Neil. There’s no rush to choose a Sequence.
Could you help me organize the literature over there first?
Of course, Mr. Neil.
Dunn says you’re proficient in ancient Feysac and Hermes?
Oh, I wouldn’t say I’m proficient. I’ve just studied them for a long time.
You can begin with the simpler things, or whatever you’re familiar with.
Once you’re skilled enough, perhaps you could help me decipher...
these notes that were lost after Emperor Roselle’s death.
Emperor Roselle?
Most of them were lost.
It took a lot of effort to get my hands on these three copies.
It is said that these strange symbols he invented hold mysterious powers.
But for over 150 years, no one has managed to decipher their true meaning.
However, I’ve already worked out a few of them, and confirmed that they represent numbers.
And that would mean this is...
actually a diary.
Oh, gosh. This is Simplified Chinese.
The key thing about potions isn’t about grasping them, but digesting them!
It’s nothing to do with tapping into powers, but acting!
"And the name of a potion is not solely symbolic at its core,
but a concrete image, the ’key’ to digestion!
There’s so much info. I’m grateful for my native tongue!
I might even find a way to get back home.
I made a hasty choice back then.
In hindsight, I should have chosen...
"...Apprentice, Seer, or Marauder."
What does that mean?
Hello? Klein?
Oh, Mr. Neil.
What’s the matter?
I’m sorry. I was trying to decipher and interpret this diary.
Decipher?
You are young indeed!
Young people always think they’re the most special.
Have you decided which potion you want yet?
I can explain them to you in more detail.
Neil.
I know what you were trying to say.
Don’t be afraid, and don’t hesitate.
Maybe it’s because he’s old.
There are eyes behind you!
Eyes? Oh, don’t mind those.
It’s a characteristic of ritualistic magic.
What was that just now?
Overusing Spirit Vision will deplete your spirituality, and you may even hallucinate.
I take it you’ve met Leonard?
I remember when he first took a potion and became a Beyonder,
he fell from the top of the stairs, just like that.
So all things in moderation.
If you can’t control your Spirit Vision very well yet, you can do what I do.
Lightly tap twice between your brows to switch it on and off.
Between my brows?
Aside from Spirit Vision, spirituality can also be used for Spirit Dowsing,
Dowsing Rod Seeking, and other ritualistic magic.
But that’s enough for today. Before we finish,
I should hand you your demon-hunting bullets and other items. Check everything carefully.
I’m springing out of poverty and heading straight to middle class!
Please come again.
First, go and purchase a cane.
Then, walk every road and alley between Welch’s home and your own.
That’s your mission every day.
See if you can recall the notebook’s whereabouts.
Good day. Get in.
An assignment?
Yes. Young Elliott, the only son of Vickroy, a major tobacco merchant, was kidnapped this morning.
Don’t we only deal with Beyonders?
We are disguised as a security company.
The client is a returning customer.
We, uh, helped him find his lost cat once.
Anyway, don’t be nervous. Searching for people is a Seer’s specialty.
This is his garment. Get to work, Mr. New Seer.
Dowsing Rod Seeking?
Elliott’s location.
Elliott’s location.
Go straight.
Straight ahead.
Turn left.
Turn right.
Here.
Right here.
Two kidnappers.
One hostage.
Excellent. I’ll be done in a minute, then we’re off the clock.
What a strange fellow.
Klein.
What’s this?
You have a job now. You need to be presentable.
Must’ve been expensive.
Benson saved up in secret for a long time.
Come on. Try it on and see if it fits.
It suits you!
Yup, it really suits you.
I really like it. Thank you, Benson and Melissa.
There’s no need to thank us. We’re family.
Come. Let’s toast to Klein finding a good job!
And to our new home.
And to our lives getting better and better from now on.
Praise the Lady!

This is the world of Beyonders.
By drinking potions, humans are able to attain various Beyonder powers,
and ascend to divinity.
Neither.
I’m a Seer.
If you are not careful, it will result in tragedy.
4 soli for one session?
Is there anything I should be aware of now that I’m a Spectator?
Fool?
Melissa!
Happy birthday, Selena!
Has Mr. Hanged Man already begun attempting his ritualistic magic?
Damn!
Oh, no!
This place shall be the grave for all of you!
Melissa.
Melissa.
This voice...
It’s Miss Justice. She’s attempting ritualistic magic.
To you, I pray:
Please grant me a good dream.
What’s happening?
Death is how lambs follow their master’s will!
Klein Moretti!
No... Impossible.
Hanass Vincent, accept your master’s grace!
Very well! I’ll wear this one.
It’s amazing, Susie! The ironclad ships have a test voyage today.
I’ll finally get to see large cannon ships!
Dizzy, dizzy.
Hello? Who’s there?
So dizzy.
Susie?
Since when could you talk?
I, uh, don’t know how to explain.
After all...
I’m just a dog.

Mr. Azik, it’s about my disharmonious fate...
Did you discover anything new?
Have you been noticing a lot of coincidences these past few months?
Coincidences?
Perhaps clues are hidden within them.
Like that item you mentioned during your last visit.
The Antigonus family’s notebook?
Got it.
Good morning, Mr. Neil and Klein.
Good morning, Kenley.
Is today some holiday I’m unaware of?
Oh, um, I got engaged yesterday, so...
That’s a big thing worth celebrating!
You got engaged?
Congratulations, young Kenley.
Finally!
The Tingen Nighthawks are breaking their curse of never finding romance.
"Breaking the curse"?
Good idea.
I should write that down.
Writing another novel, Seeka?
What’s it about this time?
A thousand-year bloodline curse.
A demon hunter falls for a ravishing witch.
A tragic yet beautiful star-crossed romance.
Well, sounds like it checks all the trope boxes.
The Loenese web novel community needs you, Miss Seeka.
Workday mornings bring joy and satisfaction,
and always stir poetry in my heart.
Yet you can’t write a single poem.
On days like this,
we should all take leave and go eat and drink together.
Today’s patrols assignments.
Kenley and Seeka, West Borough and Golden Indus areas.
Leonard and Royale, stay at Blackthorn and keep watch.
Frye and I will patrol the North Borough and Raphael Cemetery.
Understood!
Captain, what about me?
You...
Oh, come on, Captain. You really forgot to assign me a task?
There’s no helping it. That’s just how a Nightmare is.
Reality and dreams intertwine, making it hard to tell them apart.
If one day the Captain suddenly remembers everything,
we’ll know something’s very wrong.
You can relieve Frye in a bit and keep watch over the Chanis Gate.
By myself?
Don’t worry. It’s usually quiet.
But remember.
Whatever sounds you hear, never open the Chanis Gate-
unless it opens from the inside.
That makes me more nervous.
And also, it’s been almost two months since you joined the Nighthawks.
Submit a report to the Holy Cathedral for evaluation, minimum 10,000 words.
Wait, seriously? A 10,000 words report?
That’s a lot.
"Elliott’s kidnapping".
"Ray Bieber goes berserk".
"Hanass Vincent’s Magic Mirror, dark divination".
A Deweyville Library record?
The Chanis Gate?
Klein!
The Chanis Gate?
Just now...
Sealed Artifact 3-0625.
The Misfortune Cloth Puppet.
What are you doing?
Losing control while guarding the Chanis Gate is a grave matter.
Other districts have reported such tragedies.
The Nighthawks on duty...
all disappeared. Gone without a trace.
Klein, what happened?
The Chanis Gate opened briefly.
Mr. Neil! Is something wrong?
I’ve been dealing with constipation...
so I tried ritualistic magic earlier, but...
Bath- Bathroom!
Ritualistic magic... is very dangerous.
No abnormalities after my recital.
Everything’s fine now, Klein. You are still our trusted partner.
You suspected I wasn’t?
It’s standard procedure, Klein.
From your description, it was the Misfortune Cloth Puppet.
But it’s been here for decades and never shown any signs of being "alive".
For it to suddenly come to life and lure you from the Gate,
can only mean one thing.
It was affected by a newly arrived Sealed Artifact.
Only one new Sealed Artifact was placed behind the Chanis Gate.
Though it stayed there for just a few nights.
You mean...
the Antigonus family’s notebook?
Mr. Fool really can read Roselle’s drawing-like secret symbols.
I was too reckless and foolish. I shouldn’t have dared to observe Mr. Fool.
Thank goodness that I haven’t angered him.
July 14th: I saw that mysterious Mr. Zaratul again.
Mr. Zaratul? A descendant of the Zaratul family from the Fourth Epoch?
Surprisingly, he leads an ancient organization, the Secret Order.
He told me his Sequence 9 was Seer.
At lower Sequences, strictly acting speeds potion digestion.
He asked me to help steal a dangerous Sealed Artifact,
a relic of the Antigonus family.
I asked him for more details, but he just smiled at me.
To hell with his smiles!
I’ll beat up every Seer I see once I become a High-Sequence Beyonder!
Rest in peace, Great Emperor...
I’m very pleased with the pages of Roselle’s diary you found this time.
It’s our honor.
You may interact freely now.
Mr. Fool, by following your guidance,
I’ve recently felt significant progress in my potion digestion.
May I ask, when will I fully digest the Spectator potion?
Good question, Miss Justice.
I’ve just seen the answer.
For Low-Sequences, if you strictly follow the acting method,
it can take anywhere from one month to half a year.
One month?!
Half a year?!
Thank you for clearing up my confusion, Mr. Fool. I have no further questions.
Recently, I’ve heard a Sequence 8 Listener from the Aurora Order,
is searching for traces of the True Creator- the holy residence they advocate.
The True Creator?
Many secret organizations believe the Creator did not fully perish,
but instead left behind a core, the True Creator.
Allegedly, Emperor Roselle created the Hanged Man card
using the True Creator as a reference.
That’s correct, isn’t it, Mr. Fool?
I’m more inclined to call "Him",
the Fallen Creator.
F-Fallen?
As expected of Mr. Fool-incisive even when judging the True Creator.
Thank you for your guidance, Mr. Fool.
Beyonders who worship the True-no, the Fallen Creator...
tend to have a higher probability of losing control.
May I ask, what payment do I need to provide?
More pages of Roselle’s Diary. Or...
any information on the Antigonus family.
I know little about the Antigonus family,
only that they possess a strange and terrifying pathway.
The family’s history goes back to the Third Epoch, the Cataclysm Epoch.
In the Fourth Epoch, the Epoch of the Gods, the Antigonus, Amon and Abraham families...
helped the Blood Emperor in establishing the Tudor Empire.
By the end of the epoch, the Antigonus were destroyed by the Evernight Goddess.
Excellent.
That will be all for today.
By your will.
By your will.
So the Antigonus family was destroyed by the Evernight Goddess?
Strange and terrifying?
Which pathway could that be?
What’s the Antigonus family relic Zaratul of the Secret Order wanted the Emperor to steal?
The Secret Order has the Seer pathway.
Does that mean I can get later potion recipes from them?
From the notebook?
Calm down.
I have to deal with problems one by one.
First,
Mr. Azik mentioned coincidences.
After the kidnapping,
a clue to the Antigonus family’s notebook appeared across the room.
Bieber absorbed the notebook’s power before leaving Tingen,
making it easy for 2-049 to track him.
Vincent led Selena in performing the Magic Mirror divination, which I discovered.
Yet I saw nothing strange in my earlier divinations.
Was there interference in the real world?
The true reason for Elliott’s kidnapping.
There is interference.
Who’s behind all of this?
What’s their goal?
The Antigonus family’s notebook?
Was Elliott’s kidnapping planned just to lead me to the notebook?
What does this mean?
The real reason Ray Bieber stayed in Tingen.
The truth behind Hanass Vincent’s Magic Mirror divination.
Same as the last divination-
the answer’s still unclear.
Iron Cross Street, Daffodil Street, Blackthorn...
The area’s too big to interpret.
Or is it because my spirituality isn’t enough to divine a clearer result?
I should prioritize my advancement,
but my potion digestion’s been stuck lately.
Acting’s no problem.
I interpret revelations, follow their guidance,
respect fate, stay humble,
and never blindly trust my own interpretation.
I’ve always done that!
But my digestion’s at a standstill.
That proves a true Seer has more than just the principle of acting.
Clues to the Clown potion.
Bieber’s corpse?
What’s that? A glowing brain?
The Clown’s corpse?
Welch and Vincent?
The notebook again?
Should I use the notebook to lure the Secret Order,
thereby obtaining the Clown potion recipe?
But what’s the deal with that brain-like thing and the red orb of blood?
And who is... this person?
My sincerest apologies, Miss Christina.
Mr. Moretti isn’t here right now.
Oh, Mr. Moretti! What are you doing here?
Good morning.
Hornacis?
Over 10,000 pounds?
Madam, if you wish to divine Lanevus’s whereabouts,
you’ll need not only his portrait but also detailed information,
or an item he has owned for a long time.
They were right. You are a true Seer!
So... would a child of his work?
Huh?
This is my niece, Megose.
We don’t worship the Lord of Storms,
and don’t believe in chastity before marriage.
Lanevus ran off with all our savings, and now debt collectors are after our family.
We have to find him!
He used her, then stole her money. What a scumbag!
If the child is born, it might work,
but unfortunately, it’ll take a few months.
It won’t be that long!
Where can I find the nearest clinic?
What are you thinking?!
The child isn’t like his father.
He’s a very caring child.
Every day he only gently kicks me, hums songs, and even whistles me to sleep.
Hums and whistles? Is all this shock messing with her head?
I won’t give up on my child!
Megose, quit being naive!
Having the child of a fraud will only lead you down a thorny path!
Praise the Lady.
Mr. Moretti, I thought you’d be coming tomorrow.
That was my original plan, but then I had a dream.
I dreamed of Mr. Vincent with this man.
Hmm, I’ve seen this person before.
About a month ago, he and Mr. Vincent had a bit of a scuffle just outside the door.
Do you think this man is linked to Mr. Vincent’s death?
So, you know a Seer’s dream might be a hint from the gods?
Of course! Oh, it’s just like in Madam Fors’s novel!
"Madam Fors"?
In her detective stories, the murderer is often hidden in plain sight-
right by the victim’s side!
Angelica’s love for mysteries is burning bright!
Could you hear what they were saying?
Umm, I can’t remember.
I think they mentioned something about ruins...
Ruins?
The Hornacis Mountain Range’s ruins?
The Deweyville Library.
Officer, these are the borrowing records for the Hornacis Archaeology Journal from the past few months.
Thank you.
Lanevus?
If this is about the Hornacis Mountains iron ore fraud,
then checking related info is reasonable.
This name...?
It first showed up at the end of May, but vanished after July 14th.
Just a day before Vincent’s death on July 15th.
He’s probably lying low.
Could this person be... Sirius Arapis?
Thank you.
Excuse me, where can I find the archaeology journals?
Over there.
That’s him!
It’s the man I saw when I was divining for the Clown potion.
What a coincidence!
This isn’t good; he looks strong. Should I confront him?
No, let’s not be rash. Follow your heart, but stay cautious.
Notify the captain first.
Huh-
He ran?
Call the police!
Damn. Signs of loosing control-
That’s it? Guess I’m the king of good luck after all...
His combat power’s weaker than mine and I’m just a Seer.
His Spirit Body’s fading fast.
It might be too late to ask about the notebook.
I’ll better ask about the Clown potion first.
The recipe for the Clown potion.
The Hanged Giant?
The True Creator?
Captain?!
Communicating with the spirit body of a berserk Beyonder is extremely risky.
Good luck might save you once or twice, but not every time.
I’m sorry. I got ahead of myself.
I’ll take that to heart, Captain. It won’t happen again.
You’re way too lucky.
I feel there’s a fateful bond connecting you, Beyonders and these evil powers.
You’ve run into more Beyonder incidents than we handle in an entire year.
The Spirit Body’s gone. Communication won’t work.
"Dear Mr. Z..."
Heh, seems we’re dealing with our old friends from the Aurora Order.
Mr. Z?
The Aurora Order’s 22 Oracles all use letters as codenames.
"Vincent and I found nothing else of value in that Antigonus notebook.
Just the Seer, Apprentice and Clown potion formulas we’d already given you."
I just obtained the Clown potion formula,
but unfortunately, the link severed and I didn’t get anything else.
Alright, but the authenticity of the formula still needs to be verified by the Holy Cathedral.
Is there more?
"The Antigonus family must have left behind a secret treasure for their revival.
As a faction that held the Seer pathway,
they likely foresaw their own downfall.
There’s reason to believe the treasure lies in the ruins on the main peak of the Hornacis Mountain Range,
hidden in the Nation of the Evernight.
Lastly, my dear Mr. Z,
I am making preparations for Doomsday,
and hope to receive your assistance.
When that day comes,
I will offer all of Tingen as sacrificial lambs to the master.
Your humble servant, Sirius Arapis."
So he really was Sirius.
So the Antigonus family’s strange and terrifying pathway turns out to be the Seer pathway!
No wonder I kept hearing "Hornacis" ever since I drank the potion.
So, what’s "Flegrea"?
And that secret treasure-is it real?
No, stop, stop!
The notebook alone caused many deaths. The actual treasure would be far more terrifying!
I feel there’s a fateful bond connecting you, Beyonders and these evil powers.
Fateful bond?
Could this really be more than just coincidence?
The Secret Order’s lost Antigonus notebook...
directly caused Klein’s suicide.
Then...
I transmigrated into his body,
and influenced by Emperor Roselle’s diary, became a Seer.
Emperor Roselle was influenced to choose the Seer pathway
because of Zaratul, the leader of the Secret Order,
a High-Sequence Beyonder of the Seer pathway.
What kind of twisted fate is this?
Sirius appeared the moment I arrived at the library today.
I needed the Clown potion formula, and got it immediately.
All these coincidences...
Just what lies hidden in this tangled web of fate?
If...
everything I’ve been through was arranged by someone behind the scenes,
then the first and biggest coincidence in my fate...
was the day Klein shot himself!
Still no good.
Relying on divination alone to find the truth is too naive.
After all, divination isn’t all-powerful.
This is...
The potion’s been fully digested?
So the key is not to depend solely on divination!
"Divination isn’t all-powerful" is the final acting principle!
I did it!
The Red Chimney.
That’s where the mastermind is?
Your devout follower prays for your arrival!
The Antigonus family’s...
secret treasure.
The ruins in the Nation of the Evernight.
I completely forgot about this. But why?
Could it be that the notebook doesn’t want others to know...
about that vertical pupil formed from countless mysterious symbols?

This is the world of Beyonders.
By drinking potions, humans are able to attain various Beyonder powers,
and ascend to divinity.
That red chimney...
I haven’t gotten any new leads from my divination since last time.
Even with the gray fog, the interference stayed.
Whoever’s behind this is strong.
I need a better trump card than just advancing to Clown.
Weapons? Aside from guns, I’ve only got charms.
Charms?
Oh, right! The Flaring Sun Charm!
I need to find a way to use that blood from the Eternal Blazing Sun.
Klein.
Mr. Azik.
Have you been busy lately? You look exhausted.
I’ve been trying to track down the person behind it all. It’s making me a bit anxious.
They haven’t shown any cracks since they noticed my gaze.
Relax. Don’t get too fixated on it.
Maybe the turning point is just one thought away.
Yes, Mr. Azik.
Mr. Azik, there’s something I’d like your help with.
An unnamed island? What is this?
My apologies, Mr. Fool. I couldn’t find a new page of Roselle’s Diary this time.
No need to worry. It’ll come eventually.
But I have been in contact with a few secret Beyonder circles,
hoping to get more diary pages.
Honorable Mr Fool. Mr. Hanged Man.
I hope to receive some information on hidden organizations.
Don’t look at me.
The all-knowing Mr. Fool you see here is only Bronze-tier.
Most of these organizations stay hidden in the shadows.
What I know is just the tip of the iceberg.
I’ll need someone else to dig deeper.
That’ll be tricky and very dangerous.
I’ll happily listen to the bits you do know.
Even then, you’ll have to pay a great price.
A-A price?
What kind of "price" do you mean?
1,000 pounds. In non-consecutive old banknotes.
Damn! 1,000 pounds?
That could buy a mansion, and that’s just for the tip of the iceberg?
That’s too expensive.
Ha, Miss Justice may be a noble, but that’s still a lot to come up with on short notice.
No problem.
Would you like me to send it to the same address?
Mr. Hanged Man?
Correct. Same address.
To the same recipient.
Wow, man. She’s loaded. 1,000 pounds, just like that?
Calm down, Zhou Mingrui. It’s only money.
I have to keep my composure as Mr. Fool.
You may begin, Mr. Hanged Man.
Currently, there are over 100 secret organizations with significant influence.
Ancient organizations from the Fourth Epoch include the Secret Order,
the Demoness Sect, and the Moses Ascetic Order.
The earliest known of these is the Moses Ascetic Order.
Sequence 9 of their pathway is Mystery Pryer.
That’s Old Neil’s pathway.
Their members worship knowledge itself,
and call their god: the Hidden Sage.
Early on, the Moses Ascetic Order was widely respected.
But it’s fallen from grace and become an evil organization.
But why? Worshiping knowledge isn’t evil.
But what if knowledge itself became alive?
Legend has it the Hidden Sage came to life,
and became the personification of an evil god.
Early Orders in this epoch also include the Rose School of Thought,
and the Numinous Episcopate that worships Death.
Both from the Southern Continent.
As for the Aurora Order, Element Dawn, the Psychology Alchemists, and so on,
they only appeared in the last 200 to 300 years.
Thank you very much for the information, Mr. Hanged Man.
I have no more questions, Mr. Fool.
Very well. Let us end here for today.
By your will.
The Numinous Episcopate that worships Death? I feel they have a link to Mr. Azik.
I haven’t heard from Mr. Azik in days about the help I asked for.
He didn’t forget, did he?
Extra! Extra!
Strange paranormal events down at the docks today!
Will it drive out the Evernight Goddess’s worshippers,
or is there some hidden truth to it?
Hey, kid!
What is it, sir?
Wait here! I’ll buy a paper from you!
Careful.
Benson? Melissa?
Why are you two home so early?
Klein, is that a gun?
Uh, well, this is actually...
I’m also working part-time as a history consultant for the police. The gun’s standard issue.
I’ll be back late, so don’t wait for me at dinner!
Did something good happen to Klein? He’s looking very cheerful.
No casualties. Only worshippers of the Evernight Goddess were targeted.
Mr. Azik must’ve started taking action.
Hey, what’s the rush? You’re barely here once every 800 years.
Now that you’re here, you’re not leaving anytime soon.
Mr. Neil and...
Oh, it’s him.
I told you I’m on a mission.
You think you can complete all the missions in the world?
You need to learn to relax sometimes!
Hey, Wright. Two Southville beers. They’re on him!
Damn you, old man. You just want to use my tab.
Hello, sirs. Mr. Neil.
Oh, Klein! Fancy seeing you here.
Wright, one more. Put it on-
On his tab. Yeah, I know.
Cheers!
Perfect!
Don’t drink so fast. I won’t save you if you start choking to death.
You’re here about the incident at the docks, right?
Yeah. That cursed event- hauntings targeting specific worshippers?
And only Evernight Goddess followers?
The docks are Mandated Punishers territory. There’s rumors aplenty now.
I should meet up with Dunn.
Mandated Punishers and Nighthawks can’t afford to fight over rumors.
Those in the shadows would just laugh at us!
You think an evil order was behind it?
Our early investigations say yes.
Mandated Punishers also aren’t in a position to investigate non-worshippers of the Lord of Storms.
Lanti Proof. Fill ’er up.
Those Spirit Bodies were really unusual. Difficult to expel.
They appeared to be very ancient. Like they were the dead from the Fourth Epoch.
Well, that confirms it was Mr. Azik’s doing.
From here on out, it’s my turn.
Here, let me toast to both of you!
Bottoms up!
I still have a mission to finish.
Next time, come to the bar by the docks. We’ll drink the night away.
By the way...
You’re Klein, right?
I saw it in you last time. You’re a rare talent.
Hey, why don’t you join the Mandated Punishers-
Alright, get out of here, you!
Neil, you owe me two beers. You better pay me back double next time!
Off I go!
Mr. Havre sure is a jovial straight-shooter.
Pfft, as if. He’s just a drunk.
Sorry to interrupt.
Old Neil, the captain’s looking for you.
The dock incident is quite suspicious.
You’re more familiar with that area. Leonard and Kenley are both green.
Go with them to deal with it.
Huh? Me?
Captain, allow me.
A sudden incident with strange Spirit Bodies sounds like a job for divination.
Exactly! Things like this should be left to the youngsters.
Ah, ouch. My poor old back can’t keep up anymore.
There’s a new policy now.
Anyone over 50 gets double mission pay.
Klein’s got a point!
I’ll help him use divination correctly to investigate!
Be careful. Don’t act impulsively.
Understood, Captain.
Captain, I hear those Spirit Bodies are tough to deal with.
If civilians are around, they’ll be Sun-praising idiots within an hour.
That is a problem, but we should still prepare for the worst.
What if there’s a strong Wraith among those dead spirits?
Since it’s the Mandated Punishers’ jurisdiction, if we can’t handle it,
you’ll have to call them for backup, and that’s, uh...
Well, it wouldn’t exactly be good for the Nighthawks’ reputation.
All right. But stay alert for any danger,
and remember, don’t stay in one spot longer than an hour.
Yes, sir!
You came up with ways to go on a mission with me on purpose, didn’t you?
Huh?
Well, I suggest you give up on your unrealistic fantasies.
Even while on a mission, you’ll never discover my secret.
Who cares about your secret, buddy?
Don’t be so full of yourself.
Excuse me.
Are you Nighthawk officers?
Yes, that’s us.
Good day, officers. I-I’ve heard so much about the Nighthawks.
Uh, I’m Gate, the new sergeant overseeing the docks.
Please follow me, officers.
There have been several supernatural incidents, and here’s where it’s most severe.
Who are these people?
Looks like they’re here to do an exorcism.
An exorcism?
That handsome fella...
Ya usually see those men in the arms of politicians and noble ladies. Can he really do this?
The two in the middle are rookies.
Hey, isn’t that Old Neil? I hear he’s worth his salt.
Worthless, if you ask me. He’s just an old man.
He’ll probably be a ghost before he exorcises any.
Hey, stop it with this nonsense! Move along now.
It’s crowded here.
Will that make it inconvenient for you officers to use your abilities?
Rest assured, everyone. We are indeed professionals.
For this exorcism, we’ve specifically prepared...
holy water, a sacred emblem, and garlic.
I read about exorcism in the papers! Those are the essentials!
They really are professionals!
Excellent. Nighthawk officer transforms into fake guru on the spot.
Emperor Roselle once said, "Form over substance."
Then let us begin without further delay.
Officer Gate, please call for reinforcements!
This haunting caused by Mr. Azik sure is authentic.
Oh, brother. Stick to the act. Don’t expose me!
E-E-Everyone, be careful!
This isn’t an ordinary dead spirit! Hold control of the possessed and hang on for a minute!
3-0782 is activating.
What happened?
What’s going on?
Thanks to the Goddess’s blessing, that was only a minor incident.
Now, our exorcist will officially begin the ritual to cleanse the evil spirits.
Why me?
Newcomer bonus.
Huh? Is that really how exorcisms work?
That’s not what the papers described.
I pray, by your powers! Cleanse the evil spirits!
This is such a warm feeling.
Yes! Like bathing in sunlight.
That was magical. That’s professional exorcists for you!
Praise the Lady.
Are you all right, madam?
Mr. Havre?
He... He’s kicking.
Thank you, sir. You saved us.
May my Lord give you His blessings.
She seems calmer than before.
Has her family accepted the child?
Havre, didn’t you have an urgent mission? Why are you dillydallying here?
Look over there. That’s my mission.
I’m following this poor girl to see if we can find out where her fiancé, Lanevus, is.
Lanevus?
The one behind that 10,000 pounds scam?
The higher-ups want to know if there’s Beyonder involvement, but we’ve found nothing so far.
I reckon we’ll close it as a regular fraud case in a couple of days.
Drink less, lest you drink yourself to death.
Drink myself to death?
No better way to go!
See you ’round!
Mr. Neil, you seem rather close with Mr. Havre.
We’re both old men here in Tingen. After all this time, familiarity is natural.
Back in the day, our group of friends would gather at my place to drink.
Celeste would play the piano for us.
Celeste?
My wife.
She passed many years ago now.
Of all our old friends, only Havre and I remain.
Don’t give me that look.
Death is life’s final resting place.
For folks like us, if we don’t die losing control, it’s a blessing from the gods.
All right. Go expel the rest of the evil spirits.
Don’t waste time now.
This old bag of bones won’t be joining you for that.
Finally. All expelled.
That was strange though.
Those spirits were tough to expel, yet the possessed weren’t harmed.
I’ve never seen anything like it.
Use divination to find the cause.
Sure.
The cause of the docks incident.
I can’t see a thing.
Figures. Mr. Azik’s pathway is too advanced.
Mr. Azik woke up surrounded by corpses.
Was that the battlefield of the Pale Disaster?
If he really is a descendant of Death,
I should be even warier of whoever’s behind all this, and about the theft of his son’s skull.
Let’s leave it at that.
Usual procedure. One person will keep watch over 3-0782 while the others rest.
We’ll rotate shifts every hour.
Finally! What I’ve been waiting for.
All charms within the Evernight Goddess’s domain are pure silver. That’s already costly.
But this is even more impressive. It’s burning gold!
I must succeed in one try.
This weather’s really strange.
A Beyonder lost control?
Be careful. It was at least Sequence 8 before losing control.
We must deal with it on the ship.
Can’t let it get into the Tussock River.
Take 3-0782 and leave first.
Kenley!
Go!
Don’t push! Run this way, this way!
Get people away now! The safety zone needs to be at least 50 meters!
Yes, sir!
Find a way to notify Havre, and don’t come close unless ordered to!
What the heck is this? Some crazy giant swing?
Shit.
That actually worked?
Havre?
Mr. Havre?
He’s already completely lost control. There’s no turning back.
Let me do it.
Mr. Neil, your hand.
Old Neil always seems so cheerful and lively,
but his home feels so dull and lifeless.
Old Neil’s wife?
Madam Celeste?
Mr. Havre.
Everything was fine. Why’d he suddenly lose control?
When we were drinking and when I saw him at the docks, nothing seemed unusual.
What happened that made him lose control so fast?
If the cause can’t be traced at all,
then a Beyonder losing control is even more frightening than I thought.
Two Flaring Sun Charms.
With this divine blood empowering me,
whether it’s the notebook’s influence or whoever’s behind it, I can fight back.
But this lifesaving trump card...
can’t stop a Beyonder from losing control.
The captain said most Nighthawks die because of it.
So that means neither I nor anyone else can escape that fate?
What am I afraid of?
I’m able to exploit gods.
There’s a solution to everything.
Maybe the more control someone has over themselves,
and the stronger their Beyonder powers are, the less likely they are to lose control?
Maybe I can find a way to leak the acting method to the captain and the others.
It’s time to advance to Clown.

The lower the Sequence,
the stronger a Beyonder’s abilities.
Strong Beyonders of the higher-level Sequences can wield powers strong enough to rival gods.
This path of evolution is called:
the Path of the Divine.
That should be detailed enough.
I’ll give it to the captain tomorrow.
I hope Mr. Havre’s loss of control will never happen to us.
Klein.
Don’t shoot.
It’s me.
Miss Daly?
It’s a bit rude of me to drop by like this,
but I’ve only just received Dunn’s letter.
This is an emergency,
and this little trick was the only way I could get back to Tingen to chat with you in secret.
You’re using the Acting Method, aren’t you?
The "Acting Method"? What’s that?
Don’t play dumb. You don’t have to hide it from me.
To digest a potion that quickly, you either used the Acting Method,
or you’re an evil heretic.
In which case, you’ll face the tribunal’s judgment.
Uh, it was pure chance... The Lady herself must have blessed me.
I’m glad we could be honest with each other about this.
It took me nearly two years. Yet you’ve only been a Beyonder for two months.
How frustrating.
Madam, I assume the higher ranks are aware of the Acting Method.
In ’The Revelation of Evernight’,
the Church of the Evernight Goddess dates back to the Third Epoch.
Yet even to this day, most Nighthawks remain unaware of the Acting Method.
There must be a good reason the higher ranks kept it so secret, right?
I don’t know the reasons.
I only dare bring this up to others who have grasped it themselves, like you.
The higher ranks make anyone who discovers this knowledge swear on a notary certificate,
which is why I never got the chance to tell Dunn.
So Klein...
I want you to tell Dunn about the Acting Method before anyone from the Holy Cathedral arrives.
The Holy Cathedral?
Well, you grasped it within just two months, making you a weirdo-sorry, a genius!
The Holy Cathedral now holds you in the highest regard. Can’t say I’m surprised.
A representative is already aboard the train to Tingen.
Klein, we don’t have much time.
Don’t worry, Miss Daly.
I’ll go inform the Captain and everyone else right away.
What? You’ve digest-
Ahem... grasped the potion just like that?
You were going to say "digested," weren’t you? You’re rather knowledgeable.
Mr. Neil.
What’s the matter? Has something happened?
Mr. Neil, it’s unbelievable. Klein’s about to advance to Sequence 8!
Seq-
But how’s that possible? I-I-It’s only been two months!
Mr. Neil.
To advance, the potion’s name is the key.
Just as Miss Daly is a true Spirit Medium, I’ve been trying to be a true Seer all along,
and in doing so, I’ve established a set of Seer principles.
They’re similar to the Mystery Pryer maxim.
"Do as you wish, but do no harm"?
Yes. That’s the core of it.
The potion’s namesake is exactly what we must become,
and it also embodies the rules we must follow.
You were inspired by the maxim of the Mystery Pryer...
If only I had met you 20 years earlier...
Mr. Neil.
Captain!
His strength is equal to a Sequence 4 demigod.
I’ve never heard of him personally evaluating a Sequence 8 Beyonder for advancement.
If this were only an assessment, they wouldn’t be in the interrogation room.
You took inspiration from the Mystery Pryer maxim and from Daly’s example, right?
Yes.
Why did you tell your teammates about it?
W-We’re comrades who face danger together.
I didn’t see any reason to hide it from them.
Have you heard any murmurs from an evil god?
No!
Have you been tempted by the Devil?
Do you have any secrets you cannot share with anyone?
Klein.
Are you all right, Klein?
Don’t worry, everyone.
Your teammate has grasped the potion outstandingly.
His body, heart and soul harbor no danger. He passed the assessment flawlessly.
He can advance immediately to become a Sequence 8 Beyonder.
So Klein wasn’t being punished for sharing the method of grasping potions?
That only shows that, despite being a Beyonder for less than two months,
his bond with all of you is stronger than most.
And the restraints?
Ah, yes.
They’re to prevent him from harming himself.
I’ve never seen anyone advance in just two months,
so that’s why I added a little extra.
Haha... I appreciate your special consideration, Reverend.
All right. Back to business.
Come.
Everyone, place a hand on this Holy Artifact and recite after me to establish your oath.
I swear to you, by my spirit and my true name...
I...
Kenley
Royale
Seeka
Frye
Dunn
Neil
Leonard
Klein
...will never reveal the details of the Acting Method from this day forward.
If I break this oath, I accept any punishment you deem fit.
Please witness my vow.
Praise the Lady.
Very well.
We may now prepare your Clown Potion.
80 ml of pure water.
Five drops of Jimsonweed juice.
Seven grams of black-rimmed sunflower powder.
Ten grams of golden cloak grass powder.
Three drops of poisonous hemlock.
One entire human-faced rose,
and the crystal horn of a mature Hornacis gray mountain goat.
You truly are...
a professional Seer.
I officially congratulate you, Klein Moretti.
You’ve successfully advanced to Sequence 8: Clown.
You must remember what I’m about to tell you.
Be it murmurs or cries, they could come from a High-Sequence Beyonder of the same pathway,
possibly filled with malice.
If this pathway belongs to some evil existence, you must be especially cautious.
Once you become tainted, it’s incredibly easy to lose control.
A High-Sequence Beyonder of the Seer pathway?
The advancement’s effects are obvious. My body feels lighter, stronger and more agile.
Klein! You’ve successfully advanced?
How does it feel?
Still getting used to it.
He’ll fix his tie...
with his left hand.
I even have precognition?
The abilities of a Clown are even stronger than I thought.
Do I have any other abilities?
Uh, did anything change?
It seems skills like Air Bullets can only be learned starting at Sequence 7.
Is this another new invisible ability?
This much force from only a piece of paper? That’s amazing!
I could carry tarot cards.
With practice, I’d be more precise with throwing knives as well.
Klein advanced to Sequence 8 in just two months.
If I work hard, I could reach that level in a year or two.
Advancement, huh... Youth is a wonderful thing.
Mr. Neil, are you all right?
He’s showing signs of illness, but everything looks normal.
What was that...
At first, I also sought inspiration in the Mystery Pryer maxim,
but I never found the right path.
Mr. Neil.
But that’s life. There are always regrets.
Today, young Klein has brought us good fortune.
We should celebrate his advancement together!
Yes, let’s go for a drink together.
Let’s do it tonight. There’s a restaurant near my house-my treat!
Huh?
Hm... now, what do you all like to eat?
Honey-glazed barbecue, Fermo coffee from the Paz River Valley,
fried Tussock fish, clear oyster soup, pan-fried foie gras.
What do you want to drink?
Sweet iced tea.
What’s that?
A new item at Smyrin Bakery.
You’re an adult and still like sweet stuff? You have the palate of a child.
At times like this, you should be drinking beer.
All right, it’s settled! I’ll go book us a table.
Is that still the same Old Neil?
After work, we’ll all gather for dinner.
All right.
Oh, wait.
Whose turn is it to guard the Chanis Gate?
Seeka.
Looks like she’ll be missing out, then.
Wow, I’ve known Old Neil for a long time, but I never knew he could play the piano so well.
There’s a touch of loneliness in his music.
Captain, I think we should have more gatherings in the future.
Yes. We should spend more time with him.
The door’s open?
Mr. Neil, it’s me, Klein.
Klein?
What are you doing here?
We’re here to pick you up and take you to the restaurant, Mr. Neil.
Oh.
I’m, um...
I’m not ready yet.
No need to dress up, Mr. Neil. Come on out.
No!
Not today!
I’m sorry.
Mr. Neil.
Go. Quickly.
What... what’s going on?
Old Neil, what’s wrong?
Are you trying to surprise us?
No, it’s not a surprise.
I’m just, um, not feeling well.
Let’s dine together tomorrow.
Yes, tomorrow.
You don’t feel well? Have you fallen ill?
Good timing, then. We’ll come in and check on you.
Once we know you’re fine, we’ll leave immediately.
Liar.
You’re lying!
Old Neil.
You won’t believe even me?
Just a quick peek.
I hope we can make it in time, Old Neil.
All right. As you can see...
I... I made a bit of a mess.
Tomorrow... I’ll be fine tomorrow.
Please leave now.
Come out first, Old Neil.
Let us see. Maybe we can help you.
Promise me, Dunn. Just one quick peek, and then you leave.
That’s right. Just let us take one quick peek. As long as-
Dunn!
"Do as you wish, but do no harm."
I’ve always lived by those words.
I’d rather endure it myself than hurt anyone else.
I just have one small request right now.
Tomorrow! Wait until tomorrow!
I know you all call me stingy.
But I’ve never harmed a single person all this time.
At most... at most, I’ve spent money I shouldn’t have.
I swear it.
I swear it to the Lady!
Dunn, Klein, please leave.
Tomorrow, everything will be back to normal.
Old Neil.
You misunderstand.
We’ve known each other for 15 years.
I know you don’t have any serious problems. You’re just sick.
I’m worried about you.
I need to see you with my own eyes before I can stop worrying.
You’re not here to arrest me?
Of course not. I swear it to the Lady.
Then... all right.
Look. I’m really fine.
See?
Old Neil.
What have you been trying to do all this time?
So you’ve figured it out?
Well, it’s not like I can’t tell you.
I’m trying to resurrect...
Celeste.
I’ve found the method and I’m on the right path.
I couldn’t save her 20 years ago,
but now I have enough knowledge and experience.
I can finish everything.
It’s such a pity...
that I couldn’t take inspiration from the Mystery Pryer maxim and from Daly’s example.
I missed my best chance.
But I won’t let it slip this time!
Dunn, just leave.
How do you intend to resurrect Celeste?
Resurrection...
Alchemical Life. I’ll prepare a body that never ages.
Then I’ll summon her soul from the Spirit World and guide it into the new body!
Isn’t that a great idea?
Indeed, it’s an excellent idea, Old Neil.
Of course it is!
It’s a gift from God!
He kept whispering its description into my ears...
Kept whispering...
He is...
He is...
the Hidden Sage!
You want to pull me into a dream?
It’s no use, Dunn!
My eyes can see through everything.
Let me go.
I won’t hurt anyone.
I mean it. Let me go.
I’m begging you.
I’m begging all of you.
Mr. Neil.
This is...
So I’ve already become a monster?
Let me... Let me go...
I won’t hurt anyone. Really.
I just want to quietly perform my ritual.
Dunn, do you remember when I saved you?
Royale, do you remember how I helped you save your family?
Klein.
Klein, do you remember how I taught you every day?
I’ll go deep into the mountains.
I’ll never... I’ll never show myself again.
I’m begging you.
Dunn, trust me.
I’ll leave tonight.
I won’t cause any trouble.
Please just let me go.
I’m begging...
How did it come to this...
"Materials required for Alchemical Life:
100 ml of spring water from the Spring of Elves.
50 grams of Star Crystal.
Half a pound of pure gold.
Five grams of phlogiston.
30 grams of red iron.
And a large quantity of fresh blood from living people.
Can consider drawing my own.
Do as you wish, but do no harm."
The blood-red full moon rises, Casting light upon the Earth below.
Exhausted souls cease their wandering, And rest peacefully within the Goddess’s realm.
The Earth keeps the shell,
But the soul has soared into eternity, A shining star among the heavens.
May the Goddess, in the moments between angelic songs,
pluck these words along with sweet silence.
Our dear friend and comrade who fought alongside us.
May the stars shine bright In the everlasting night.
May you return to your original purity.
Tranquility is your only resting place.
We are guardians, but also a bunch of miserable wretches
that are constantly fighting against threats and madness.

Oh, Klein, you’re here.
Mr. Neil, don’t you think there are too many receipts this time?
Too many? There are only six. Go quickly!
What’s this dirt beneath your shoes? Hurry up and scrape it off!
Hm, then how about we call it...
The Fantastic Beasts Protection Association!
Klein, there’s a letter for you.
"Klein, by the time you read this, I’ll already be on the train to Backlund.
The Inverted Mausoleum you mentioned last time seems familiar to me.
But unfortunately, I couldn’t recall more.
So I’ve decided to visit other places. Perhaps it’ll help me recover more memories.
On another front, the one behind everything hasn’t made a move yet.
My departure from Tingen might make them lower their guard."
Mr. Azik has left as well. What should I do from here?
If the mastermind makes a move and I’m by myself...
Hm?
What’s this?
What are you up to?
Uh...
Captain, what’s this wanted poster?
Did I not warn you?
That was my oversight. He’s a former archbishop.
He failed his promotion 3 years ago.
He fled with Sealed Artifact 0-08 and hasn’t been seen since.
The Holy Cathedral’s ordered: Upon discovery, do not engage and report him immediately.
Otherwise, you’re 1000% guaranteed to die on duty.
And Sealed Artifact 0-08 is?
A Grade 0 Sealed Artifact. The highest grade in terms of danger and security classification.
Items in that grade must not be asked about, talked about, described or probed.
Regarding 0-08, all that is known is that it resembles a common quill.
One that writes without ink.
A quill?
When Beyonders die from losing control,
they leave behind items filled with Beyonder power.
If these cannot be controlled, they must be sealed away.
That is one origin of Sealed Artifacts.
But what if they could be controlled?
You wouldn’t want to know the answer.
The Nighthawks, the Mandated Punishers, and the Machinery Hivemind
all face the risk of losing control or death in the line of duty.
Klein, you must get used to this. Pull yourself together.
Yes, I understand, Captain.
The captain’s right. I need to get it together.
The mastermind is still out there, and I still need to return home.
Klein.
I bought this on the way. Sweet iced tea.
You like this, right?
Thank you, Captain.
The item you applied for earlier has also been approved.
Tarot cards. 22 in total.
Each card is inlaid with pure silver and other metals.
They’re only effective against the undead.
What made you think of using tarot cards as a weapon?
They’re easier to conceal than a gun and they don’t resemble a weapon.
At the critical moment, they can deliver a fatal blow!
Your strength is sufficient, but your accuracy needs work.
Don’t worry. From now on, I will teach you strength and combat techniques.
If there’s anything else you don’t understand, you can ask me directly.
You’re already Sequence 8. You should gain more knowledge on the Spirit World.
So I’ve found a teacher for you, who will visit you around ten tonight.
A Sequence 6 Spirit Guide.
Don’t turn in early.
Welcome home, Klein. Have you had dinner yet?
I’ve already eaten, Melissa.
What’s wrong?
You seem to be in better spirits.
I’m sorry for making you worry.
Oh, right. Here.
I recently became a full-fledged police officer, so...
What? Another raise?
Knowledge truly equals wealth.
"Basics of Accounting"?
Benson, you...
I don’t want my weekly pay to still be under two pounds in five years.
But this is sleep-inducing.
Learning basic math logic and relevant legal stuff will help with studying accounting.
Really?
Yup.
All right. I’ll work hard.
Studying. That’s what separates us from curly-haired baboons!
"This copper whistle is something I had on me when I awoke.
It can summon my messenger.
Find a relatively safe place, and give it a mighty blow.
The little one will show up quickly."
Messenger?
No sound. It’s broken?
What the- What’s happening?
It’s this thing?
Mr. Azik, you call this a "little one"?
Huh?
Miss Daly?
Aw, I expected you to get scared.
Hah, that messenger before you started with his ultimate.
Madam, your strike barely counts as a regular hit.
So you are that "Spirit Guide" teacher.
Miss Daly, congratulations on advancing to Sequence 6.
I still prefer to be called a "Spirit Medium."
Today, I’ll teach you two Beyonder abilities:
summoning a messenger, and a different form of Spirit Channeling.
It uses ritualistic magic to enter someone’s Mind World,
to explore memories buried deep within the subconscious.
In most cases, the existence of the human will
resists direct communication between spirits.
Which makes the process quite troublesome, and fairly risky.
In the Mind World, all of...
Madam, don’t you think today’s lesson is a little too much at once?
C-Captain?!
A-Are you here to see Miss Daly?
Ignore him. He’s scaring people in dreams again.
My apologies, Daly. I interrupted your lesson.
Don’t forget you promised to wine and dine me.
Right.
Klein, get your weapon. There’s an urgent mission.
Hood Eugen has been disguising himself as an ordinary citizen of Tingen.
But recently, he suddenly went mad.
He accidentally exposed his Beyonder abilities.
He’s a suspected Sequence 7 Psychiatrist.
His dreams are now a chaotic mess. I can’t interrogate him with Nightmare.
Try using Spirit Channeling.
As a Sequence 7 Psychiatrist of the Spectator pathway,
he has strong mental defenses.
Be careful.
Are you asleep?
Not yet. I’ve been waiting for you.
You were expecting me?
What about the cake you promised to bring me?
I never said I would.
L... L said, "Stay up tonight and I’ll bring you cake."
No... No cake...
So it was you...
You stole my cake!
Don’t get so worked up.
The captain’s Nightmare ability has improved.
Looks like the potion has been digesting well.
Begin, Klein.
It feels so light.
Yet so heavy.
What is that sound?
Is this the Spirit World Miss Daly spoke of?
It overlaps with the real world. Past, present, and future all converge here.
It’s overflowing with endless information.
This is the entrance to Hood Eugen’s Mind World?
Tell me.
Who are you, and which organization do you belong to?
Hood Eugen...
The Psychology Alchemists...
Psychology Alchemists?
Why have the Psychology Alchemists come to Tingen?
No response?
Did I ask the wrong question?
Or maybe Eugen doesn’t know either?
Then, who is L?
L...
Lanevus.
Lanevus? Even in his madness, Eugen still remembered the cake.
The two must have a close relationship.
That swindler, who cheats both money and women, is likely a Beyonder as well.
Swindler! The one listed in the files, perhaps? The Marauder pathway, Sequence 8 Swindler?
Why did Lanevus come looking for you?
He said, "You should be able to see... which existence is behind me.
And in a sense, the Psychology Alchemists, also have a certain relation to "Him."
As long as you provide a little help,
you will not only gain the ability to master the potion’s power,
and avoid losing control,
but you will also attain the divinity that all Beyonders dream of:
Immortal godhood!
Hood Eugen! As long as we seize this opportunity,
We too can become rulers of this world!"
"We can become true immortals!"
What does that mean? This seems like the typical talk of a swindler!
What kind of help did Lanevus want you to provide?
Help...
Help. I provided help!
I provided help!
I provided help! I made...
Holy...!
Eugen’s Mind World is collapsing. I’d better get out of here quickly!
Shit!
What happened? You almost got trapped inside his Mind World.
Captain, I saw a sinister altar, and a shadow that resembled the True Creator.
No wonder Eugen instantly lost control. A sinister altar, huh?
If it’s related to the True Creator, then it’s likely tied to the Aurora Order as well.
Meanwhile, the Psychology Alchemists might be hiding in the shadows,
tacitly allowing things to happen.
The Aurora Order!
Captain, do you still remember the letter written to Mr. Z?
The one we found on Sirius, a member of the Aurora Order?
In that letter, he wrote that when the time is right, on Doomsday,
he would offer all of Tingen as sacrificial lambs to his so-called "Master."
I believe this is strongly related to whatever Lanevus is plotting.
The situation is quite severe.
We must reinvestigate Lanevus.
Madam Maynard roared in fury, "You shameless bitch!"
You shameless bitch!
She’s a murderer! Why aren’t you arresting her?
Madam Sharon, a famous Tingen socialite and Baron Khoy’s widow.
All these people are Conservative Party and New Party Members,
and share quite a close relationship with her.
By her side is the current Baron Khoy, Madam Sharon’s stepson.
Stepson?
I will sue her, and I’m accusing you, police, for dereliction of duty!
A whore like her deserves severe punishment!
Madam, such crude language does not suit your stature.
Madam Sharon visited Mr. Maynard last night at my arrangement.
Do you have an issue with me?
That’s Tingen’s most famous socialite for you.
Let’s check upstairs.
John Maynard. New Party Member. Tingen City’s Member of Parliament. A Mayor candidate.
Initial report indicates the time of death was between 9 and 11 last night.
The body wasn’t moved and was found by the butler this morning.
Mrs. Sharon was the last person to see him alive.
We’ve ruled out Beyonder involvement, as well as homicide.
The initial cause of death is due to illness.
What did you discover?
The same as Frye.
But I believe this death is not that simple.
It has to be tied to Beyonders.
While investigating clues related to the Lanevus case,
I discovered the steel mill Lanevus rented does under-the-table dealings.
The actual authority in charge of it is the highly respected...
Mayor candidate, John Maynard?
He’s exactly the person I wanted to investigate today.
The timing of his death is too coincidental.
Let’s investigate Mrs. Sharon’s network thoroughly, and see if she has any connection to Lanevus.
John Maynard’s death was due to Beyonder influences.
It was!
Indeed, our investigations are being interfered with.
Mrs. Sharon is a Beyonder.
Mrs. Sharon has ties to Lanevus.
Cannot be divined.
Is she using an alias, or is she a very powerful Beyonder?
There isn’t enough reliable information, so I can’t confirm anything else.
How many times have I been interfered with now? It’s too coincidental.
Is it possible that Mrs Sharon is connected to the mastermind behind the scenes?
Is this a new prayer?
Mr. Fool.
I have good news to share.
The Higher Exam you mentioned that helps select skilled individuals,
has been approved by the King and prime minister.
We expect formal implementation to begin early next year.
So soon? It seems Miss Justice’s family has a lot of political power.
Yes, excellent.
Honorable Mr. Fool, I have something I wish to ask.
The Aurora Order has been searching for the holy residence of the True Creator.
Could that be the Forsaken Land of the Gods spoken of in legend?
The Forsaken Land of the Gods is related to the True Creator?
That is not something you should know right now.
Please forgive me for overstepping.
You may continue.
Miss Justice, I’d like to ask you for a favor.
What is it?
To find someone’s whereabouts in Backlund.
This matter carries considerable risk,
but I will ensure fair compensation for your efforts.
Who are you looking for?
One of the Seven Pirate Admirals.
Vice Admiral Hurricane,
Qilangos.
The Seven Pirate Admirals?
Speaking of which, he also went to Backlund.
Mr. Fool, is this a display of your divine power?
What language is this?
Ancient Feysac, the root language of Loenese?
Not quite.
It sounds like... Jotun?
It really is Jotun.
Thankfully, I studied it a little. Where are there still places that use Jotun?
It’s an antique language that dates back millennia.
The Forsaken Land of the Gods!
You...
Are you a God?
I am not God.
I am merely someone who is interested in the long span of history.
The Fool.
The Fool?
Justice.
The Hanged Man.
Choose a card...
as your alias.
I choose!
The Sun!

Within the crimson, Dunn Smith was crouching over Kenley White’s corpse.
Captain?
He’s drinking Kenley’s blood?
What’s going on?
Are these early symptoms of losing control?
There’s no way. The captain’s been acting as a Nightmare all along.
Klein?
What’s the matter?
No... it’s nothing. I’m just a little tired.
Don’t let grief cloud your mind.
You must get used to these things.
Examine Sharon Koy’s Spirit Body with Spirit Channeling before it disappears.
Understood, Captain.
The captain seems normal. Was that an illusion just now?
No, it wasn’t an illusion.
There is something missing from Kenley’s body.
Something the captain had given him.
Follow this lead and investigate it carefully.
Understood.
Captain, Sharon Khoy is dead. Is Tingen’s crisis resolved for now?
Sharon Khoy might have been a crucial link to doomsday,
but evil orders tend to have contingency plans.
Ah, welcome home, Klein.
Yeah.
Have you been busy lately? There’s breakfast in the kitchen. Would you like some?
Sure, after I finish work.
I’ve already mailed the letters.
I hope Mr. Azik and Miss Daly reply as soon as possible.
I’m not sure what happened, and what state the captain is in.
Only you two can give me answers now.
The reason for Dunn Smith’s abnormality.
No response.
There’s not enough information, so the divination failed.
Normally, divination related to one’s own safety requires the least amount of info.
Perhaps I should try to divine my own safety.
Dunn Smith’s abnormality will put me in danger.
Indeed.
The Captain’s abnormality will put me in danger and it’s no minor threat.
Mr. Azik has replied?
"The scenario you described reminds me of Vampires and Mutants.
Natural vampires were nearly extinct even before dragons and giants vanished from history.
But I recall there’s a certain pathway with a Sequence whose potion is named Vampire.
As for Mutants, some speculate they are regular humans who have been corrupted or cursed,
and become monsters under specific conditions.
Your superior might be a potential Mutant.
Of course, these are just my guesses.
But regardless of which,
they prove your superior’s current state is unstable and very dangerous.
You should be careful."
Klein.
Captain?
Klein.
Head to 62 Howes Street.
Leonard found Lanevus’s residence, and is asking for your help.
Secret compartments or hidden rooms in this building.
Another letter?
"Congratulations on finally finding this letter!
This means you’re not completely stupid.
You qualify to take part in this game of life and death that I’ve designed."
Madness always comes at a price.
The sin of blasphemy will never be forgiven.
"Poverty. Disease. Child laborers that die before their time.
Factory workers who seldom live past thirty.
Every factory in this city is shrouded in boundless resentment.
Our game shall take place under such a setting.
Fools, prepare yourselves.
I’ve placed a bomb in the center of Tingen.
A bomb that grows stronger over time!"
A bomb?
"Go and find it, my dear friends."
The clock is ticking. We need to report this to the captain.
"If you lose this game, ka-boom!
All of Tingen will be reduced to ashes.
Yours sincerely, the one who enjoys giving his friends pleasant surprises: Lanevus."
I’ve never heard of a bomb that grows stronger over time.
It must be a bomb in the mystical sense. Like an evil ritual that constantly accumulates power.
I agree with you.
The resentment Lanevus described is perhaps what makes the bomb grow stronger.
The question is: Where is the bomb?
Did something happen?
Where’s the captain?
A bomb? Could it be on the altar in Hood Eugen’s Mind World?
But where’s that altar?
Underground, in Tingen’s center?
Hello.
Miss Megose?
Lanevus’s fiancée?
Her mental state seemed off previously.
Claiming her child could whistle in the womb.
Miss Megose, what brings you here today?
I don’t know why, but I suddenly felt like coming to Zouteland Street.
Somehow, I felt like paying a visit to take a look.
Her mental state is getting worse.
Last time, I didn’t get a chance to use Spirit Vision.
Don’t look.
Don’t look.
Don’t look.
You’ll die if you look!
The bomb Lanevus set up isn’t at the altar.
It’s the evil being inside Megose.
"I started the Industrial Revolution with my own hands,
and personally ushered in the Age of Steam and Machinery,
only for it to create the conditions for the Evil God’s descent?"
The whistle’s being suppressed!
The Flaring Sun Charm isn’t affected.
Miss Megose, do you have a request for us?
I’d like to speak about Lanevus.
He told me you know a lot.
Who is he?
My child.
May I ask, would you like a cup of coffee or tea?
A cup of warm water.
Just a moment, Miss.
Keep her calm.
Klein?
I heard you and Mr. Lanevus first met at a banquet.
Huh?
Yes! The first time I met him was at the City Council Banquet.
He was so dazzling. So charming and wealthy.
A young tycoon everyone had their eyes on that night.
Many beautiful ladies lined up for a dance with him but for some reason...
He chose only me.
From waltzes to courantes, he danced with me the entire evening.
His every word made me happy.
His every look captivated me.
That’s when I knew I’d never be able to imagine life without him.
Later, I was told he was a liar. That he had only deceived me.
But that wasn’t true. He treated me well.
He often took me to gatherings with his friends.
He showed me many marvelous places.
That day!
That day...
He gave me a necklace.
And said he had a surprise for me.
The characteristics of Death’s descendant...
allow this mortal body to become a vessel for "His" descent.
Boundless resentment and gloom are milk and honey that nourishes the saint spirit.
You say she’s not carrying Lanevus’s child?
That’s right. I tried to use Spirit Vision, but my spirituality warned me:
"You may not look directly at God."
I thought of the altar in Eugen’s Mind World,
and the divinity Lanevus promised him.
I suspect what Megose carries is...
The Spawn of the True Creator?
Yes. That would explain why Mr. Havre, who was tracking Megose, suddenly lost control.
Maybe Old Neil was also influenced by "Him."
And just as we found Lanevus’s letter, Megose suddenly appeared at our door.
Beyonder coincidence?
It was far too obvious, too direct. They’re not even trying to hide it anymore.
It seems the mastermind is finally taking matters into their own hands.
But after that incident, he disappeared.
I searched for a long time, everywhere... but couldn’t find him.
Don’t worry too much, Miss Megose.
Think about your child.
Child! Child!
Her psyche can’t handle this for much longer.
Where are Frye and Royale?
Not back yet.
Alert all noncombat members to leave. Have the police evacuate everyone.
Oh, regarding Mr. Lanevus’s whereabouts. We do have some new leads...
The captain has ordered an emergency.
All noncombat members must evacuate. It’s too dangerous here. Go quickly!
The True Creator’s Spawn is at minimum a Sequence 4 Mythical Creature.
We need backup from the Holy Cathedral,
the Mandated Punishers, and the Machinery Hivemind.
A Sequence 4 Mythical Creature?
Can we stand a chance on our own?
Mr. Azik!
If only he were still in Tingen...
The suppression of the whistle has weakened?
I should notify Mr. Azik quickly.
"Mr. Azik, the mastermind who made my fate disharmonious,
and stole your son’s skull might soon appear.
It involves the True Creator. The situation is extremely urgent."
If the evil being descends before reinforcements from the Holy Cathedral arrive...
Take two strong offensive Sealed Artifacts.
I request the usage of 3-0782. The Mutated Sun Sacred Emblem.
We lent it to Backlund yesterday.
What a coincidence!
Tingen currently only has three Grade 2 Sealed Artifacts.
Of those, two have unknown effects against High-Sequence Beyonders.
2-105, Blood Vessel Thief, has proven effective against High-Sequence Beyonders.
It can steal an ability from a target within a certain range,
though the probability is low.
Then let’s choose it.
Anyone who comes into contact with 2-105 will have their life energy stolen.
Remember: at Sequence 8, its usage limit is 30 minutes.
I’ll inform Leonard of all the necessary precautions.
My dear Poet, it’s time for you to reveal your secret.
Then, which will you use?
I have other plans.
Saint Selena... Saint Selena...
I request the usage of the Core Seal:
Saint Selena’s ashes.
This requires special authorization from the Holy Cathedral.
As captain of the Tingen Nighthawks,
I have the authority to use Saint Selena’s ashes in emergencies.
With the Core Seal gone, the Chanis Gate is in your hands.
May the Goddess bless you.
The Holy Cathedral has responded:
Stall as long as possible. Reinforcements are on the way.
And the coincidences?
No reply.
Our priority is buying time.
Let’s hope the spawn inside Miss Megose can wait.
He has another residence on Howes Street? He never mentioned it to me!
Don’t be foolish.
Just go. Escape now.
You!
What are you hiding?
Mr. Lanevus actually encountered some difficulties,
and had no choice but to leave Tingen.
Once it’s resolved, he’ll come back for you and your child.
Really?
Yes. It must be true!
He loves his child.
For his child he would definitely return.
Mr. Moretti said the same. This child is the key to finding Lanevus.
Klein Moretti?
Yes, the excellent Mr. Seer!
I think someone told me that if I came here, you’d help me birth my child even quicker.
Who? Who told you that?
There was a voice, um...
A voice that said, "Go to Zotland Street to meet a friend."
The evil god’s Spawn is still barely stable.
I’ll head upstairs. You stay here.
Captain.
I almost forgot.
I’ve got Daly’s reply for you.
But she insisted I explain it myself.
In the mystical realm there exists a law:
Law of Beyonder Characteristics Indestructibility.
The characteristics are never destroyed, only passed on.
When Daly and I discovered this,
the Holy Cathedral told us to keep it secret and gave us two choices.
First choice: Submit all Beyonder Characteristics to the Holy Cathedral.
The second: For Sequences of the same pathway, consume them yourself.
I’m unsure of their true intentions.
At the same time, this greatly affects potion digestion.
Still, I made that choice.
To be with them forever.
Captain.
My child!
Run, brat!
Calm down, Miss Megose!
Think about your child!
His birth deserves both parents’ blessings!
Lanevus will be back in a few days! Just wait a little longer!
Just wait a little longer...
Didn’t they say the father would return once the child was born?!
The final act begins.
Run! The evil god’s spawn cannot withstand Saint Selena’s ashes.
He’s about to descend!
Saint Selena’s ashes?
