Patch 5.2 brings a multitude of additions and refinements to the realm. Adventurers of every persuasion are sure to find something to enjoy in this exciting new update.

We proudly present the patch notes for Echoes of a Fallen Star, which follows the Scions of the Seventh Dawn on their continued adventures, while the first chapter of the Sorrows of Werlyt marks the arrival of the deadly Ruby Weapon.

This patch also brings the brand-new Qitari beast tribe quests, ocean fishing, and a host of additions and improvements.

Quest Sync
The Qitari beast tribe main quests and daily quests will employ an automatic level adjustment system known as quest sync, which will match the difficulty to the player's current class level. Any experience received upon the completion of these quests will be adjusted accordingly. Furthermore, certain quests will not allow players to proceed with a class that is different than when they accepted them.

Beast Tribe Main Quests
During the beast tribe main quests, the player will have the option to agree with one of two NPCs at several points. These choices will affect the way in which the quests unfold and the appearance of the beast tribe settlement.
* These choices do not affect the rewards earned.

Requested materials can only be collected while undertaking each quest. Furthermore, these materials will not be listed in the Gathering or Fishing Log, but will appear in the Duty List.

Beastmen Currency
Players can earn Qitari compliments by completing Qitari beast tribe daily quests. The number of Qitari compliments currently held is displayed in the Currency window.

The weather "fair skies" has been added to Lyhe Mheg in its finished state.

Certain Chronicles of a New Era and side quest objective icons have been changed to indicate elevation.

An aetheryte shard for the Doman Enclave Docks has been added to the Doman Enclave (X:8.5 Y:8.3).

New chapters have been added to New Game+.
The final quest of each chapter must be completed before it can be unlocked.

Treasure coffers that appear upon completing Eden's Verse will not yield gear, but instead yield tokens that can be traded for gear of your choosing. You can only receive one token per chapter of Eden's Verse each week. In the event you are awarded a token from the loot list, you relinquish your right to vie for all remaining tokens regardless of whether you selected Need or Greed.

Also note that there is no weekly restriction on entering Eden's Verse.
* Reward eligibility will be reset every Tuesday at 12:00 a.m. (PST).

If your party contains players replaying a duty prior to the weekly reset, the number of treasure coffers appearing upon completion will decrease. Furthermore, players will be ineligible for rewards from treasure coffers as well as Eden's Verse apocrypha when replaying a duty prior to the weekly reset.
* If there are one to four players in your party replaying a duty, only a single treasure coffer will appear. If there are five to seven players in your party replaying a duty, no treasure coffers will appear.

By selecting "Duty Completion," players will not be matched with those who have already completed the duty.

In addition to gear, players will receive Eden's Verse apocrypha from each duty, which can be exchanged for gear of your choosing.

Due to the addition of the calculations feature, information relating to progress and quality increases at 100% efficiency is no longer displayed in the synthesis window.

Every two hours, players have a fifteen-minute window to register by speaking with Dryskthota on the Limsa Lominsa lower decks (X:3.0 Y:12.7). If you wish to enter as a party, the party leader must be the one to speak with the NPC.
* Players will be matched together to form a full party when participating solo or with a party of fewer than eight members.
* The ship will depart even if there are fewer than 24 crew members.

When ocean fishing is available, the NPC will be marked with an "!" icon on the map.

Availability and Routes
Depending on the time slot, the route taken and time of arrival at the destination may vary. For more information, speak with Dryskthota on the Limsa Lominsa lower decks (X:3.0 Y:12.7) and select "View Sailing Schedule." You can also set an alarm for the time of departure via subcommands.

Fishing on the Endeavor
The Endeavor sails to fishing locations such as Costa del Sol and Horizon, allowing you to see the sights of Eorzea as never before. Players will have seven minutes to reel in fish at each location, with various rewards on offer.

Bait
While Versatile Lures can be used, there are other types of lure created especially for the Endeavor. To purchase these lures, speak with the Merchant & Mender on the Limsa Lominsa Lower Decks (X:3.2 Y:12.8) or onboard the Endeavor (X:6.1 Y:6.1).
* Other types of lure may also be used.

Points
Rewards are given according to the points earned during ocean fishing.
* Releasing or discarding fish will not reduce your point total.

Records
Information on points earned, the three most recently caught fish, and time remaining can be viewed during the fishing trip.

You may also view a list of fish that you have caught in Score Overview.

Bonuses
Bonuses are awarded upon fulfilling certain conditions, either individually or as a group, which affect the rewards given upon completion.

Spectral Currents
Spectral currents will appear under certain conditions and allow a greater number of fish to be caught for a limited time.

Experience Point Gain
Ocean fishing awards experience points based on your level regardless of which fish are caught, making it ideal for leveling up.

Completion
Once three fishing locations have been visited, the voyage will end and final results will be announced.

Rewards are given according to the total number of points earned. Each individual player's rewards differ according to current level.

When the duty commencement window appears, you may now view your Duty Finder settings.

When withdrawing from a duty that is about to start, a message will be displayed regarding the associated penalty.
When using the Duty Finder as a member of a party, this message will be displayed for all party members.
The message will only be displayed in cases where penalties apply, rather than every time the Withdraw button is used.
The "Frontline Freelancer" option has been removed from the Duty Finder.
Once the duty commencement window has appeared, players can no longer move to another area.

The option "Reply in Selected Chat Mode" has been added to the subcommands available from player names in the chat log.
It is now possible to change the chat channel to that of a selected player.

We proudly present the patch notes for Echoes of a Fallen Star, which follows the Scions of the Seventh Dawn on their continued adventures, while the first chapter of the Sorrows of Werlyt marks the arrival of the deadly Ruby Weapon.

This patch also brings the brand-new Qitari beast tribe quests, ocean fishing, and a host of additions and improvements.

* Additional features will be implemented in future updates:
Ishgardian Restoration updates are scheduled to be released in Patch 5.21.
Save the Queen: Blades of Gunnhildr and Skysteel tools are scheduled to be released in Patch 5.25.

Quest Sync
The Qitari beast tribe main quests and daily quests will employ an automatic level adjustment system known as quest sync, which will match the difficulty to the player's current class level. Any experience received upon the completion of these quests will be adjusted accordingly. Furthermore, certain quests will not allow players to proceed with a class that is different than when they accepted them.

During the beast tribe main quests, the player will have the option to agree with one of two NPCs at several points. These choices will affect the way in which the quests unfold and the appearance of the beast tribe settlement.

If your party contains players replaying a duty prior to the weekly reset, the number of treasure coffers appearing upon completion will decrease. Furthermore, players will be ineligible for rewards from treasure coffers as well as Eden's Verse apocrypha when replaying a duty prior to the weekly reset.
* If there are one to four players in your party replaying a duty, only a single treasure coffer will appear. If there are five to seven players in your party replaying a duty, no treasure coffers will appear.

By selecting "Duty Completion," players will not be matched with those who have already completed the duty.

The sound effect to indicate the successful crafting of a HQ item has been changed.

Adjustments have been made to the animation used to indicate a bite when fishing.
* Only the player fishing can see this newly added effect. It can be disabled by setting battle effects to "Show Limited" or "Show None" under the Character tab of Control Settings in the Character Configuration menu.

Versatile Lures have been added. They can be used to catch a wide range of fish.

Participating in Ocean Fishing
Every two hours, players have a fifteen-minute window to register by speaking with Dryskthota on the Limsa Lominsa lower decks (X:3.0 Y:12.7). If you wish to enter as a party, the party leader must be the one to speak with the NPC.
* Players will be matched together to form a full party when participating solo or with a party of fewer than eight members.
* The ship will depart even if there are fewer than 24 crew members.

When ocean fishing is available, the NPC will be marked with an "!" icon on the map.

Availability and Routes
Depending on the time slot, the route taken and time of arrival at the destination may vary. For more information, speak with Dryskthota on the Limsa Lominsa lower decks (X:3.0 Y:12.7) and select "View Sailing Schedule." You can also set an alarm for the time of departure via subcommands.

Fishing on the Endeavor
The Endeavor sails to fishing locations such as Costa del Sol and Horizon, allowing you to see the sights of Eorzea as never before. Players will have seven minutes to reel in fish at each location, with various rewards on offer.

Bait
While Versatile Lures can be used, there are other types of lure created especially for the Endeavor. To purchase these lures, speak with the Merchant & Mender on the Limsa Lominsa Lower Decks (X:3.2 Y:12.8) or onboard the Endeavor (X:6.1 Y:6.1).
* Other types of lure may also be used.

Points
Rewards are given according to the points earned during ocean fishing.
* Releasing or discarding fish will not reduce your point total.

Records
Information on points earned, the three most recently caught fish, and time remaining can be viewed during the fishing trip.

You may also view a list of fish that you have caught in Score Overview.

Bonuses
Bonuses are awarded upon fulfilling certain conditions, either individually or as a group, which affect the rewards given upon completion.

Spectral Currents
Spectral currents will appear under certain conditions and allow a greater number of fish to be caught for a limited time.

Experience Point Gain
Ocean fishing awards experience points based on your level regardless of which fish are caught, making it ideal for leveling up.

Completion
Once three fishing locations have been visited, the voyage will end and final results will be announced.

Rewards
Rewards are given according to the total number of points earned. Each individual player's rewards differ according to current level.

During the quest "The Ties That Bind" you may select either a tailcoat or gown, regardless of the character's gender, when receiving items from the ceremony outfitter.
* You may exchange a tailcoat for a gown, or vice versa, by speaking with a Calamity salvager in Limsa Lominsa, Gridania, or Ul'dah. Exchanges can only be made with items from the same plan.

Duty time remaining will now be displayed prior to the disappearance of the circle restricting player movement at the beginning of a duty.

Upon completing a duty, the time until players are forced to leave has been changed from ten minutes to the remainder of the duty's time limit.
* In cases where the time remaining is less than ten minutes, a limit of ten minutes will be used instead.

New retainer exploration venture levels have been added.

Fees are now charged for items bought from the market board when the player is in the city where the item was listed.

Waymarks can now be saved and loaded.
The positions of waymarks placed in duties can be saved to one of five slots. After entering a duty, select the relevant slot to load saved waymarks. Each slot displays information including marker type and time and date of creation.
Waymarks cannot be saved in certain instances, including Eureka and deep dungeons.

Waymarks can no longer be placed or removed during combat.
* This change does not affect PvP, which still allows placement and removal of waymarks during combat.

* Only applies to alliance raids compatible with the duty recorder. As of Patch 5.2, only the Copied Factory is available.

The following additions and adjustments have been made to the Duty Finder:
When the duty commencement window appears, you may now view your Duty Finder settings.

When withdrawing from a duty that is about to start, a message will be displayed regarding the associated penalty.
When using the Duty Finder as a member of a party, this message will be displayed for all party members.
The message will only be displayed in cases where penalties apply, rather than every time the Withdraw button is used.
The "Frontline Freelancer" option has been removed from the Duty Finder.
Once the duty commencement window has appeared, players can no longer move to another area.

The option "Reply in Selected Chat Mode" has been added to the subcommands available from player names in the chat log.
It is now possible to change the chat channel to that of a selected player.

If a player logs out during the 72-hour period in which they have returner status and then does not log in again for 45 days or more, they will receive returner status again for 72 hours upon logging in.

The camera distance set when logging out will be retained upon logging back in.

If the Recommendations window is locked when logging out, it will now be locked when logging back in.

The requirements for acquiring certain toy chest mini-games have been adjusted.
Players who have completed either of the seasonal events "In Adventurers We Trust" or "Message in a Bottle" will now have access to the following toy chest mini-games:

An issue in the Bowl of Embers (Hard) wherein Hellfire could be prevented by stunning Ifrit.
An issue in Borderland Ruins (Secure) wherein the map icons for interceptor drones and interceptor nodes were identical.
An issue in Onsal Hakair (Danshig Naadam) wherein, upon returning to the player's starting point, symbols for unactivated ovoos were displayed as complete.
An issue in Trust dungeons wherein using the ninja action Trick Attack immediately after Ryne uses Trick Attack caused the buff timer to stop counting down for several seconds.
