Patch 5.2 Notes

Patch 5.2 brings a multitude of additions and refinements to the realm. Adventurers of every persuasion are sure to find something to enjoy in this exciting new update.

We proudly present the patch notes for Echoes of a Fallen Star, which follows the Scions of the Seventh Dawn on their continued adventures, while the first chapter of the Sorrows of Werlyt marks the arrival of the deadly Ruby Weapon.

This patch also brings the brand-new Qitari beast tribe quests, ocean fishing, and a host of additions and improvements.

* Additional features will be implemented in future updates:

Ishgardian Restoration updates are scheduled to be released in Patch 5.21.

Save the Queen: Blades of Gunnhildr and Skysteel tools are scheduled to be released in Patch 5.25.

Quest Sync

The Qitari beast tribe main quests and daily quests will employ an automatic level adjustment system known as quest sync, which will match the difficulty to the player's current class level. Any experience received upon the completion of these quests will be adjusted accordingly. Furthermore, certain quests will not allow players to proceed with a class that is different than when they accepted them.

Beast Tribe Main Quests

During the beast tribe main quests, the player will have the option to agree with one of two NPCs at several points. These choices will affect the way in which the quests unfold and the appearance of the beast tribe settlement.

* These choices do not affect the rewards earned.

Beast Tribe Daily Quests

To unlock Qitari daily quests, players must first complete the beast tribe quest "The Stewards of Note."

Requested materials can only be collected while undertaking each quest. Furthermore, these materials will not be listed in the Gathering or Fishing Log, but will appear in the Duty List.

Beastmen Currency

Players can earn Qitari compliments by completing Qitari beast tribe daily quests. The number of Qitari compliments currently held is displayed in the Currency window.

The weather "fair skies" has been added to Lyhe Mheg in its finished state.

Certain Chronicles of a New Era and side quest objective icons have been changed to indicate elevation.

An aetheryte shard for the Doman Enclave Docks has been added to the Doman Enclave (X:8.5 Y:8.3).

New chapters have been added to New Game+.

The final quest of each chapter must be completed before it can be unlocked.

If your party contains players replaying a duty prior to the weekly reset, the number of treasure coffers appearing upon completion will decrease. Furthermore, players will be ineligible for rewards from treasure coffers as well as Eden's Verse apocrypha when replaying a duty prior to the weekly reset.

* If there are one to four players in your party replaying a duty, only a single treasure coffer will appear. If there are five to seven players in your party replaying a duty, no treasure coffers will appear.

By selecting "Duty Completion," players will not be matched with those who have already completed the duty.

In addition to gear, players will receive Eden's Verse apocrypha from each duty, which can be exchanged for gear of your choosing.

* Players will only receive one book of Eden's Verse apocrypha per duty each week upon completing said duty for the first time.

By speaking with Ghul Gul in Amh Araeng (X:26.6 Y:16.4) or Yhal Yal in Eulmore (X:10.0 Y:11.5), players can exchange Eden's Verse apocrypha from Eden's Verse (Savage) for corresponding gear.

The Healing Potency Up effect gained from the Echo now applies to all HP restoration actions, rather than healing spells only.

Players will now receive the power of the Echo in the event all party members are incapacitated during the following trials:

Requirement

Players are incapacitated after having battled enemies for a certain period of time.

Echo Effect

Maximum HP, damage dealt, and HP recovered via healing magic and actions are increased.

The effect will be granted in five stackable stages.

The Minstrel's Ballad: Hades's Elegy

Each time players restart the aforementioned trial, they will be granted a 5% Echo effect boost, which increases each restart up to a maximum of 25%. If a player restarts after battling for less than three minutes, they will not be granted this effect.

The following adjustments have been made to the Copied Factory:

The weekly restriction on rewards obtained from coffers has been removed.

The weekly restriction on obtaining Manufactured Coins has been removed.

The following adjustments have been made to the Epic of Alexander (Ultimate):

The weekly restriction on obtaining Colossus Totems has been removed.

Item level will now be synced to 475.

This adjustment was implemented to preserve the difficulty of the encounter, as well as the rarity of the achievement rewarded for its completion.

The following additions and adjustments have been made to Allagan tomestones:

Allagan tomestones of allegory have been added.

Players can only obtain 450 Allagan tomestones of allegory per week, and carry a maximum of 2,000 at one time. Moreover, players can only receive Allagan tomestones of allegory after reaching level 80 with at least one class or job.

* Speak with Aymark in Eulmore (X:10.2 Y:11.8) to exchange Allagan tomestones of allegory for gear.

* Speak with Shee-Tatch in Eulmore (X:10.3 Y:12.0) to enhance gear received in exchange for Allagan tomestones of allegory.

The weekly limitation on Allagan tomestones of phantasmagoria has been removed.

* The maximum store of 2,000 tomestones has not been changed.

Allagan tomestones of goetia are no longer obtainable.

Please note that any Allagan tomestones of goetia obtained prior to patch 5.2 will not be lost. All trials and duties where Allagan tomestones of goetia could be obtained will now offer Allagan tomestones of phantasmagoria instead.

The NPC Auriana in Mor Dhona (X:22.7 Y:6.7) will now give players the option to exchange Allagan tomestones of goetia for Allagan tomestones of phantasmagoria.

Allagan tomestones of genesis and Allagan tomestones of mendacity have been removed from the game.

Patch 5.2 Notes (Preliminary)

Patch 5.2 brings a multitude of additions and refinements to the realm. Adventurers of every persuasion are sure to find something to enjoy in this exciting new update.

* Additional features will be implemented in future updates:
Ishgardian Restoration updates are scheduled to be released in Patch 5.21.
Save the Queen: Blades of Gunnhildr and Skysteel tools are scheduled to be released in Patch 5.25.

Quest Sync
The Qitari beast tribe main quests and daily quests will employ an automatic level adjustment system known as quest sync, which will match the difficulty to the player's current class level. Any experience received upon the completion of these quests will be adjusted accordingly. Furthermore, certain quests will not allow players to proceed with a class that is different than when they accepted them.

Beast Tribe Main Quests
During the beast tribe main quests, the player will have the option to agree with one of two NPCs at several points. These choices will affect the way in which the quests unfold and the appearance of the beast tribe settlement.
* These choices do not affect the rewards earned.

Players can earn Qitari compliments by completing Qitari beast tribe daily quests. The number of Qitari compliments currently held is displayed in the Currency window.

The weather "fair skies" has been added to Lyhe Mheg in its finished state.

Certain Chronicles of a New Era and side quest objective icons have been changed to indicate elevation.

An aetheryte shard for the Doman Enclave Docks has been added to the Doman Enclave (X:8.5 Y:8.3).

If your party contains players replaying a duty prior to the weekly reset, the number of treasure coffers appearing upon completion will decrease. Furthermore, players will be ineligible for rewards from treasure coffers as well as Eden's Verse apocrypha when replaying a duty prior to the weekly reset.
* If there are one to four players in your party replaying a duty, only a single treasure coffer will appear. If there are five to seven players in your party replaying a duty, no treasure coffers will appear.

By selecting "Duty Completion," players will not be matched with those who have already completed the duty.

In addition to gear, players will receive Eden's Verse apocrypha from each duty, which can be exchanged for gear of your choosing.

Maximum HP, damage dealt, and HP recovered via healing magic and actions are increased.

The effect will be granted in five stackable stages.

The weekly restriction on rewards obtained from coffers has been removed.
The weekly restriction on obtaining Manufactured Coins has been removed.

This adjustment was implemented to preserve the difficulty of the encounter, as well as the rarity of the achievement rewarded for its completion.

The following additions and adjustments have been made to Allagan tomestones:
Allagan tomestones of allegory have been added.
Players can only obtain 450 Allagan tomestones of allegory per week, and carry a maximum of 2,000 at one time. Moreover, players can only receive Allagan tomestones of allegory after reaching level 80 with at least one class or job.
* Speak with Aymark in Eulmore (X:10.2 Y:11.8) to exchange Allagan tomestones of allegory for gear.
* Speak with Shee-Tatch in Eulmore (X:10.3 Y:12.0) to enhance gear received in exchange for Allagan tomestones of allegory.
The weekly limitation on Allagan tomestones of phantasmagoria has been removed.
* The maximum store of 2,000 tomestones has not been changed.
Allagan tomestones of goetia are no longer obtainable.
Please note that any Allagan tomestones of goetia obtained prior to patch 5.2 will not be lost. All trials and duties where Allagan tomestones of goetia could be obtained will now offer Allagan tomestones of phantasmagoria instead.
The NPC Auriana in Mor Dhona (X:22.7 Y:6.7) will now give players the option to exchange Allagan tomestones of goetia for Allagan tomestones of phantasmagoria.
Allagan tomestones of genesis and Allagan tomestones of mendacity have been removed from the game.

The following adjustments have been made to materia.
Materia can now be extracted from fully spiritbound gear without losing the original item. Furthermore, materia can be melded to gear regardless of crafter class.
In accordance with this change, the general action "Materia Assimilating" has been changed to "Materia Extraction."
* Spiritbond is reduced to 1% following materia extraction.
Adjustments have been made to the requirements for materia melding.
It is possible to meld materia if one or more crafter classes (including culinarian) are of equal or higher level than the level required to equip the item.
* It is not necessary to change to that crafter class to meld materia.

Efficiency Calculations
The Progress tab shows the current efficiency and expected increase in progress for each available action. If the effect of another action has been applied, the text will be displayed in blue.

Similarly, the Quality tab shows the expected results of actions that increase quality.

Up to nine favorite actions can be selected via subcommand. These will be listed under the Favorites tab.

Due to the addition of the calculations feature, information relating to progress and quality increases at 100% efficiency is no longer displayed in the synthesis window.

The following additions and adjustments have been made to the Crafting Log:
When highlighting an item in the recipe tree, the required materials are now displayed in blue.

Every two hours, players have a fifteen-minute window to register by speaking with Dryskthota on the Limsa Lominsa lower decks (X:3.0 Y:12.7). If you wish to enter as a party, the party leader must be the one to speak with the NPC.
* Players will be matched together to form a full party when participating solo or with a party of fewer than eight members.
* The ship will depart even if there are fewer than 24 crew members.

When ocean fishing is available, the NPC will be marked with an "!" icon on the map.

Availability and Routes
Depending on the time slot, the route taken and time of arrival at the destination may vary. For more information, speak with Dryskthota on the Limsa Lominsa lower decks (X:3.0 Y:12.7) and select "View Sailing Schedule." You can also set an alarm for the time of departure via subcommands.

Fishing on the Endeavor
The Endeavor sails to fishing locations such as Costa del Sol and Horizon, allowing you to see the sights of Eorzea as never before. Players will have seven minutes to reel in fish at each location, with various rewards on offer.

Bait
While Versatile Lures can be used, there are other types of lure created especially for the Endeavor. To purchase these lures, speak with the Merchant & Mender on the Limsa Lominsa Lower Decks (X:3.2 Y:12.8) or onboard the Endeavor (X:6.1 Y:6.1).
* Other types of lure may also be used.

Points
Rewards are given according to the points earned during ocean fishing.
* Releasing or discarding fish will not reduce your point total.

Records
Information on points earned, the three most recently caught fish, and time remaining can be viewed during the fishing trip.

You may also view a list of fish that you have caught in Score Overview.

Bonuses
Bonuses are awarded upon fulfilling certain conditions, either individually or as a group, which affect the rewards given upon completion.

Spectral Currents
Spectral currents will appear under certain conditions and allow a greater number of fish to be caught for a limited time.

Experience Point Gain
Ocean fishing awards experience points based on your level regardless of which fish are caught, making it ideal for leveling up.

Completion
Once three fishing locations have been visited, the voyage will end and final results will be announced.

Rewards are given according to the total number of points earned. Each individual player's rewards differ according to current level.

Duty time remaining will now be displayed prior to the disappearance of the circle restricting player movement at the beginning of a duty.

Waymarks can no longer be placed or removed during combat.

When the duty commencement window appears, you may now view your Duty Finder settings.

When withdrawing from a duty that is about to start, a message will be displayed regarding the associated penalty.
When using the Duty Finder as a member of a party, this message will be displayed for all party members.
The message will only be displayed in cases where penalties apply, rather than every time the Withdraw button is used.
The "Frontline Freelancer" option has been removed from the Duty Finder.
Once the duty commencement window has appeared, players can no longer move to another area.

The option "Reply in Selected Chat Mode" has been added to the subcommands available from player names in the chat log.
It is now possible to change the chat channel to that of a selected player.

Patch 5.2 contains content that can only be accessed by registering the expansion packs for FINAL FANTASY XIV to your service account. To distinguish between adjustments that are and are not affected by the registration of these expansions, the following notations will be used throughout the patch notes:
